Information
High-quality replacement timing belt tensioner damper. Manufactured to meet or exceed Porsche’s original specifications, including dimensions, materials, and spring/damping rates. Essential for correct belt tension, timing accuracy & long-term engine health.
Fits:
Porsche 968 1992 - 1995
Diagram Ref No 9.
The tensioner damper plays a critical role in maintaining correct tension on the timing belt, helping to prevent belt slippage, tooth skipping, or premature wear. By damping vibration and maintaining even belt pressure, it ensures smooth engine operation and protects against costly engine damage.
Timing belt tensioner dampers wear over time due to heat and mechanical stress. A failing unit can lead to incorrect belt tension, increasing the risk of timing belt failure and severe engine damage. Replacing the tensioner during timing belt service intervals ensures continued reliability and peace of mind.
Recommended whenever the timing belt is changed – helps maintain correct tension and protects your 968’s engine.

Information
Snap a timing belt on this type of motor and the valves stop opening and closing, but those pistons keep slamming up and down. Bent valves, broken lifters, even a broken camshaft could be the outcome! Keep the relationship between your pistons and valves civil by performing proper timing and balance shaft belt maintenance.

Information
Timing camshaft belt (cam belt)
The Genuine Porsche 94410515704 timing camshaft belt is an OE toothed cam belt for selected Porsche 924S and 944 models. It synchronises the camshaft and crankshaft, maintains correct engine timing and is a critical service component. Ideal for scheduled timing belt replacement, engine service or recommissioning a stored Porsche 924S / 944.
Fits:
Porsche 924S 1986 - 1988
Porsche 944 1982 - 1991 (V8)
Porsche 944 Turbo
Diagram Ref No 5.
This belt is used on selected Porsche 924S and 944 four-cylinder engines and is a critical component of the engine timing system.
What This Part Does / Functions
• Synchronises camshaft and crankshaft rotation
• Ensures correct valve timing during engine operation
• Controls when the intake and exhaust valves open and close
• Helps maintain smooth running and engine performance
• Supports correct combustion timing and engine efficiency
• Provides OE Porsche belt fitment and tooth profile
• Replaces a worn, aged, cracked or contaminated timing belt
• Helps prevent timing-related engine damage when replaced at the correct service interval.
Why Replace This Part?
The camshaft timing belt is a critical service item. Over time, the belt can age, crack, stretch, wear or become contaminated by oil or coolant. If the belt slips or fails, the camshaft and crankshaft can move out of sync, which may cause serious engine damage. Replacing the timing belt with a Genuine Porsche OE cam belt helps maintain correct engine timing and supports reliable operation of the classic Porsche 924S / 944 engine. It is strongly recommended to inspect or replace related tensioners, rollers, balance shaft belt and water pump components during timing belt service.
When to Replace This Part
• During scheduled timing belt service
• If the belt is cracked, worn, frayed or glazed
• If the belt has been contaminated by oil, coolant or debris
• If the timing belt age or mileage is unknown
• When recommissioning a stored Porsche 924S or 944
• During camshaft, front engine seal, tensioner or roller replacement
• When replacing the balance shaft belt or water pump
• If timing belt noise, tracking issues or tension problems are present.
Where It Fits on the Car
This belt fits on the front of the engine, within the camshaft timing belt system. It runs between the crankshaft and camshaft timing pulleys and is protected by the timing belt covers.
