OE Match
OE Match for Porsche
OE Match is a specialist replacement-parts brand developed around Porsche applications, covering routine maintenance, mechanical repairs, restoration and difficult-to-source components for classic and modern models. Design911 selects brands for quality and Porsche fitment, with knowledgeable specialists available to help owners and workshops choose suitable parts.
The OE Match story
OE Match is focused on preserving Porsche vehicles by returning hard-to-find and no-longer-available components to the market. Its purpose is to keep Porsche vehicles maintained, repaired, restored and usable for the future, particularly where original components have become expensive, difficult to source or discontinued.
Supplied catalogue information records over 8000 individual part numbers, more than 11,800 OE cross-references and over 100 new products in engineering, while the wider product programme contains more than 9,000 variants; these figures describe different measures of the range. Continuing development involves researching the parts owners and workshops genuinely need, working with specialist manufacturers, reviewing engineering specifications, assessing samples, testing and approving components before release. From small seals, clips and brackets to major mechanical components, the aim is to prevent a difficult-to-source item from holding up an entire repair or restoration: preserving Porsche, one part at a time.
Why choose OE Match for your Porsche
OE Match is a quality aftermarket and OE-equivalent replacement option developed specifically around Porsche applications rather than adapted from a general aftermarket range. Original references, vehicle fitment information, dimensions, materials and component specifications are used to identify suitable replacements for routine service, age-related wear, larger mechanical repairs and restoration work.
Its research, development and quality-control processes assess material and manufacturing quality, dimensions and specification, OE-reference compatibility, vehicle application, fit and function, supplier samples, product consistency, packaging and presentation. Where appropriate, physical inspection and fitment evaluation form part of final approval, and products must meet the programme's requirements before entering the catalogue.
Coverage includes the Porsche 356, 911, 912, 914, 924, 944 and 928, alongside the 964, 993, Boxster 986, 996, Cayenne, Cayman and 997. This gives owners, enthusiasts, independent specialists and professional workshops a Porsche-focused replacement option alongside Genuine Porsche parts. OE Match is intended to provide correctly specified, OE-equivalent replacements with sensible running costs rather than simply serving as a lower-cost alternative. Design911 selects the brands it carries for quality and fitment and can advise customers on suitable options for maintenance, restoration or upgrades.

This original-style rubber seal helps prevent water ingress, wind noise and draughts, making it ideal for replacing worn or deteriorated seals during roof maintenance or classic Porsche restoration.
What Does the Front Windscreen Frame Seal Do?
The seal creates a flexible barrier between the windscreen frame and the roof assembly. It helps prevent rainwater and wind entering the passenger compartment while maintaining correct contact between the roof and bodywork.
Why Does It Fail?
Over time, the rubber can harden, shrink, crack or become permanently compressed. Exposure to sunlight, changing temperatures and repeated roof operation can accelerate deterioration.
A worn seal may cause water leaks, excessive wind noise or visible gaps around the front roof edge.
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended when the seal becomes cracked, flattened, brittle or distorted, or when water and draughts enter around the top of the windscreen.
Inspect the seal whenever carrying out Targa roof refurbishment, hood repairs or windscreen frame maintenance.
Confirm the correct seal against the vehicle's roof design and original part number before ordering.
Checks During Replacement
Inspect the windscreen frame, roof alignment, retaining channels and adjacent weatherstrips. Incorrect roof adjustment or damaged surrounding seals may cause leaks even after fitting a new front seal.

Designed to replicate the original sealing arrangement, they help create a weather-resistant barrier between the Targa roof and the upper edges of the side windows, reducing water ingress, wind noise and unwanted draughts.
Ideal for replacing hardened, cracked, flattened or damaged original seals during routine Targa roof maintenance, roof refurbishment or a complete classic Porsche restoration.
What Do Targa Top Lateral Seals Do?
The lateral seals run along the sides of the removable Targa roof panel, creating a protective seal against the upper edges of the door glass when the windows are closed.
Their primary functions include:
Helping prevent rainwater entering around the top of the door glass Reducing wind noise at higher road speeds Preventing unwanted draughts entering the passenger compartment Providing a flexible contact surface between the roof and window glass Helping maintain the correct Targa roof sealing arrangement Supporting comfortable, weather-resistant drivingCorrectly fitted lateral seals are particularly important on Targa models because the removable roof and frameless door glass must align correctly to achieve an effective seal.
Why Do Targa Lateral Seals Fail?
Original Targa roof seals are exposed to sunlight, temperature changes, moisture and repeated compression from the door glass.
Over time, the rubber can deteriorate and lose its ability to form an effective seal.
Common causes of failure include:
Rubber hardening through age Cracking or splitting Flattening from prolonged compression Shrinkage or distortion Exposure to UV light and changing temperatures Damage during roof removal or installation Incorrect door glass adjustment Poor roof alignment or worn roof componentsAs the rubber deteriorates, gaps may develop between the window glass and the Targa roof, allowing water and wind noise into the vehicle.
When Should Targa Lateral Seals Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended whenever the original seals show signs of damage or no longer provide an effective seal.
Typical indications include:
Water entering above the side windows Excessive wind noise around the Targa roof Draughts entering at the top of the door glass Hardened, cracked or split rubber Flattened or permanently compressed sealing surfaces Visible gaps between the roof seal and window glass Loose or distorted sections of weatherstrip Deterioration discovered during Targa roof refurbishmentReplacing worn lateral seals can help restore the original weather protection of the vehicle, provided the roof and door glass are correctly adjusted.
Fitment should be confirmed against the original roof seal profile and vehicle specification, particularly where a replacement or refurbished Targa roof has previously been installed.
Checks During Replacement
When replacing the Targa top lateral seals, inspect the complete roof sealing system to ensure the new rubber provides an effective fit.
Check the front and rear Targa roof seals for deterioration, and inspect the roof frame, retaining components and mounting channels for damage.
The door glass should also be checked for correct height, angle and alignment. Incorrect window adjustment can prevent even a new lateral seal from making proper contact.
Ensure the roof panel sits correctly against the windscreen frame and rear Targa bar before assessing the sealing contact.
Where necessary, adjust the roof and door glass according to the Porsche workshop procedure.
Porsche 911 Targa Roof Lateral Seals & Door Glass Weatherstrips
Maintaining the Targa roof sealing system is essential for protecting the interior of classic Porsche 911 Targa models against water ingress, wind noise and unwanted draughts.
Unlike a fixed-roof Coupé, the Porsche 911 Targa uses a removable roof panel with flexible rubber seals along its front, rear and lateral edges. The side seals are particularly important because they must provide consistent contact with the frameless door glass.
Over time, the original lateral weatherstrips can become hardened, flattened, cracked or distorted, reducing their effectiveness and allowing moisture or wind noise to enter the passenger compartment.
Replacing worn lateral seals helps restore the original roof sealing arrangement, improves contact with the door glass and contributes to a more comfortable driving experience.
These seals are suitable for routine maintenance, Targa roof refurbishment, water leak repairs and complete classic Porsche restoration projects.

Designed as an original-style replacement fixing, this plastic rivet helps retain the Targa roof weather seal in its correct position, supporting a secure fit and maintaining the original roof sealing arrangement.
Ideal for replacing broken, missing or damaged original rivets during Targa roof seal replacement, roof refurbishment or classic Porsche restoration.
What Does the Targa Seal Plastic Rivet Do?
The plastic rivet is used to secure the Targa roof seal to its designated mounting position.
The Targa roof relies on correctly fitted weather seals to help prevent water, wind and road noise from entering the passenger compartment.
This retaining rivet helps keep the seal correctly located, preventing unwanted movement or displacement during roof installation, removal and normal vehicle use.
Although small, it is an important fixing component when maintaining or restoring the Targa roof sealing system.
Why Do Targa Seal Plastic Rivets Fail?
Plastic retaining rivets can deteriorate over time, particularly on classic Porsche vehicles where the original fittings may be several decades old.
Common causes of failure include:
- Plastic becoming brittle through age
- Exposure to sunlight and temperature changes
- Damage during Targa roof seal removal
- Repeated roof maintenance and refurbishment
- Incorrect removal or installation
- Cracking or breaking of the retaining head
- General wear and deterioration
Once damaged, the rivet may no longer hold the seal securely in its intended position.
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended whenever a plastic rivet is broken, missing, loose or no longer provides secure retention.
Typical signs include:
- Missing Targa seal fixing points
- Broken or cracked rivet heads
- Loose or displaced sections of weather seal
- Rivets damaged during seal removal
- Brittle or deteriorated original plastic
- Insecure fitting following roof refurbishment
It is advisable to inspect the retaining rivets whenever replacing or adjusting the Targa roof seals.
Checks During Replacement
When replacing the Targa seal plastic rivet, inspect the surrounding roof sealing components.
Check that the weather seal is correctly positioned and free from splits, distortion or excessive compression.
Inspect the retaining holes and mounting surfaces for damage, ensuring the replacement rivet can be fitted securely without excessive force.
If the roof seal has become hardened, flattened or damaged, replacing the rivet alone may not resolve wind noise or water leaks.
Ensure all retaining points are correctly secured before refitting or adjusting the Targa roof.
Porsche 911 & 964 Targa Roof Seals, Plastic Rivets & Weatherstrip Fixings
Maintaining the Targa roof sealing system is essential for protecting the interior of classic Porsche 911 and 964 Targa models against water ingress, wind noise and unwanted draughts.
The Targa roof uses a combination of rubber weather seals, retaining components and carefully positioned mounting points to achieve an effective seal between the removable roof panel and the vehicle body.
Over time, original plastic retaining rivets can become brittle, cracked or damaged, particularly when removing aged roof seals during restoration work. Replacing damaged or missing retaining rivets helps ensure that the Targa weather seals remain correctly positioned and securely attached.
This small but important component is particularly useful during Targa roof refurbishment, weatherstrip replacement, leak repairs and complete classic Porsche restoration projects.

The piping seal installs easily into the original grooves and mounting channels on the bumper profile, forming a neat protective edge that enhances both aesthetic and functional performance. It is ideal for classic restoration projects, bumper reassembly after removal, or when refreshing aging or brittle original piping.
The bumper horn piping seal bridges the gap between the chrome/painted bumper horn and the adjacent bodywork by providing a soft, contoured edge. It helps:
• Mask raw edges and transitions between components
• Protect surrounding paint and finishes from minor contact damage
• Reduce the ingress of dirt, water, and road debris behind the bumper trim
• Restore the classic factory-correct appearance of the bumper assembly.
Function:
Installed along the perimeter of the overrider (horn) section of the front or rear bumper, this rubber piping compresses slightly to grip the bumper and horn edges. Its profile maintains a consistent seal while allowing normal flex and vibration without loss of fit - preventing rattles and movement that can occur with brittle, aged original beading.
With age, original bumper horn piping often becomes brittle, cracked, deformed, or lost, exposing underlying edges and hardware. This can detract from the vehicle’s appearance and allow water and debris to sit behind the bumper, potentially trapping moisture and accelerating corrosion. Replacing it with an OE Match seal restores the look and function of the factory assembly - preserving both style and protective qualities.
When to replace:
• Original piping is cracked, shrunken, or missing
• Bumper horn or overrider has been removed for service
• Preparing a vehicle for restoration, sale, or show
• When reassembling bumped or replaced bumper trim
• Preventive refresh on aging rubber components

Wheel hub studs are essential components of the vehicle's wheel mounting system.
Each stud is pressed into the wheel hub and provides a threaded mounting point for the wheel nut. When correctly tightened, the wheel nuts clamp the wheel securely against the hub.
The knurled section of the stud prevents it from turning within the hub during wheel installation and removal.
Maintaining wheel studs in good condition is essential for safe wheel retention and correct wheel mounting.
Why Do Wheel Hub Studs Fail?
Wheel hub studs are subjected to considerable loads during driving, braking and cornering. Over time, they can become damaged or weakened.
Common causes of failure include:
Damaged or stripped threads Cross-threading during wheel nut installation Excessive tightening torque Corrosion and rust Repeated wheel removal and installation Incorrect wheel nuts Damage caused by impact or improper installation Incorrect stud length when fitting wheel spacers Wear or damage to the knurled mounting sectionA damaged wheel stud can prevent the wheel nut from tightening correctly, potentially compromising wheel security.
When Should Wheel Hub Studs Be Replaced?
Wheel studs should be replaced whenever damage, excessive wear or deterioration is identified.
Typical signs include:
Stripped or flattened threads Wheel nuts that do not tighten smoothly Bent or visibly damaged studs Excessive corrosion Loose studs within the wheel hub Damaged knurled sections Studs that rotate when tightening wheel nuts Broken or missing wheel studsReplacement is also recommended if a stud has been damaged during wheel bearing, brake or suspension repairs.
Never reuse a wheel stud that cannot securely retain the wheel nut.
Checks During Replacement
When replacing wheel hub studs, inspect the complete wheel mounting assembly.
Check the wheel hub for damage around the stud mounting holes and ensure the replacement stud is the correct diameter and length.
Inspect the wheel nuts for damaged threads and replace any that show signs of wear.
If wheel spacers are fitted, confirm that the studs provide sufficient thread engagement and are suitable for the spacer thickness.
Wheel studs must be installed using the correct procedure and suitable equipment. Wheel nuts should always be tightened to the vehicle manufacturer's specified torque.
Porsche Wheel Hub Studs & Wheel Mounting Components
Wheel hub studs are essential safety components within the Porsche wheel mounting system. Designed to secure the road wheels to the hubs, they provide the threaded mounting points required for correct wheel nut installation and wheel retention.
Over time, original wheel studs can become damaged through corrosion, repeated wheel removal, incorrect tightening procedures or general wear. Damaged threads and worn mounting sections can prevent wheel nuts from tightening securely, making replacement essential.

Unlike a conventional solid bolt, a brake banjo bolt incorporates an internal fluid passage. When installed through the brake-line banjo fitting, it both secures the connection mechanically and allows pressurised brake fluid to flow through the joint.
Because the component forms part of the hydraulic braking circuit, its threads, internal passages and sealing surfaces must remain in excellent condition. Corrosion, thread damage, blocked passages or damaged sealing surfaces can result in brake fluid leakage or unreliable hydraulic operation.
What This Product Does:
The banjo bolt performs two important functions within the braking system: it mechanically secures the banjo fitting and provides a passage for hydraulic brake fluid.
It is designed to:
- Secure the brake-line banjo fitting in position.
- Allow pressurised brake fluid to pass through the connection.
- Form part of a sealed hydraulic brake circuit.
- Maintain correct brake-fluid delivery to the connected component.
- Provide a secure connection under repeated braking pressure.
- Replace a corroded, damaged or unreliable original banjo bolt.
- Support correct restoration of the braking system.
- Help maintain leak-free operation when installed with the correct sealing components.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
A banjo bolt does not normally wear in the same way as a moving mechanical component, but age, corrosion, overtightening or repeated removal can damage it.
Possible signs that replacement is required include:
- Brake fluid seepage around the banjo connection.
- Wetness around the bolt or fitting.
- Falling brake fluid reservoir level.
- Soft or spongy brake pedal.
- Increased brake pedal travel.
- Visible corrosion on the bolt.
- Heavy rust or pitting.
- Damaged or stripped threads.
- Rounded or damaged bolt head.
- Damaged sealing faces.
- Bolt no longer tightening correctly.
- Cross-threading.
- Internal fluid passage becoming blocked by contamination.
- Evidence that the bolt has been overtightened.
- Brake fluid leakage appearing after the connection has been disturbed.
Any brake-fluid leak should be investigated immediately.
Why Replacement Matters:
The banjo bolt forms part of a safety-critical hydraulic circuit.
When the brake pedal is pressed, substantial hydraulic pressure is transmitted through the brake fluid. The banjo connection must remain securely fastened and completely sealed throughout this pressure cycle.
Replacing a damaged bolt helps restore:
- Reliable hydraulic sealing.
- Correct brake-fluid flow.
- Secure brake-line attachment.
- Consistent brake pressure.
- Correct pedal feel.
- Long-term braking-system reliability.

The OE Match Brake Line Kit is a complete 10-piece rigid brake pipe set designed for selected early left-hand-drive Porsche 911 models equipped with a dual-circuit braking system without a brake booster / servo.
Set Of 10.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 2.0-2.2 08/68-07/71 LHD Cars
The rigid brake lines form the hydraulic connection between the master cylinder and the vehicle's wheel braking components. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure generated by the master cylinder travels through these pipes, allowing the braking system to apply the brakes at each wheel.
Over decades of use, original steel brake pipes can suffer from corrosion, external damage, seized unions or internal contamination. Because brake lines carry pressurised brake fluid and form a safety-critical part of the braking system, pipes showing significant deterioration should be replaced rather than relied upon indefinitely.
This kit provides the principal rigid brake pipes required to renew the system using correctly specified replacement lines.
What This Product Does:
The rigid brake pipes carry hydraulic brake fluid under pressure throughout the braking system.
The kit is designed to:
- Transfer hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder.
- Deliver brake fluid to the front and rear braking circuits.
- Maintain a sealed hydraulic connection between braking components.
- Support simultaneous and predictable braking operation.
- Replace corroded or damaged original steel brake lines.
- Restore the integrity of an ageing hydraulic braking system.
- Provide replacement pipes for a full brake-system restoration.
- Help eliminate leaks caused by deteriorated brake pipes.
- Restore correctly routed hydraulic connections.
- Support safe and consistent brake operation.
Because the vehicle uses a dual-circuit system, the hydraulic system is divided into separate circuits to provide additional braking-system redundancy compared with an earlier single-circuit arrangement.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible signs of brake line deterioration include:
- Visible rust on the steel pipes.
- Heavy corrosion or pitting.
- Flaking metal around the brake pipe.
- Dampness around pipe unions.
- Brake fluid visible on the pipe surface.
- Brake fluid dripping beneath the vehicle.
- Falling brake fluid reservoir level.
- Soft or spongy brake pedal.
- Brake pedal travelling farther than normal.
- Reduced braking performance.
- Brake pedal slowly sinking under constant pressure.
- Uneven braking.
- Brake warning light illuminating where applicable.
- Corroded or seized pipe unions.
- Crushed or kinked brake lines.
- Abrasion where pipes contact the body or other components.
- Damage resulting from previous repairs or underbody impact.
Why Replacement Matters:
Brake lines operate under considerable hydraulic pressure whenever the brakes are applied.
Corrosion gradually reduces the thickness and strength of a steel pipe. A line that appears only moderately rusty externally may be substantially weakened if corrosion is deep or concentrated around clips, bends and unions.
Replacing deteriorated brake lines helps restore:
- Hydraulic-system integrity.
- Reliable brake-fluid containment.
- Consistent braking pressure.
- Correct pedal feel.
- Reliable operation of both brake circuits.
- Long-term braking-system safety.
- Confidence during a complete restoration.

Its job is simple but important: the rubber grommet separates the metal brake line from the surrounding metal panel, helping prevent direct contact, vibration, abrasion and chafing.
Without an effective grommet, normal vehicle movement and vibration can allow the brake pipe to rub against the edge of the body opening. Over time, this can damage the protective coating on the pipe and potentially wear into the brake line itself.
Replacing hardened, cracked, missing or damaged grommets helps preserve the condition of the hydraulic brake pipe and supports long-term braking-system reliability.
What This Product Does:
The brake line grommet protects the rigid hydraulic brake pipe where it passes through the vehicle body.
It is designed to:
- Prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between the brake pipe and bodywork.
- Cushion the brake line inside the body opening.
- Reduce vibration transmitted into the pipe.
- Help prevent brake-line chafing.
- Protect the brake pipe coating from abrasion.
- Help maintain correct positioning of the brake line.
- Reduce movement where the pipe passes through bulkheads or panels.
- Replace a hardened, cracked or missing original grommet.
- Support long-term hydraulic brake-line integrity.
Although small, the grommet performs an important protective function in a safety-critical braking system.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible signs of deterioration include:
- Rubber becoming hard or brittle.
- Visible cracking.
- Splitting around the centre opening.
- Grommet becoming loose in the body panel.
- Grommet partially pulling out of its mounting hole.
- Missing sections of rubber.
- Complete loss of the grommet.
- Brake line contacting the edge of the body opening.
- Visible rubbing marks on the brake pipe.
- Worn protective coating on the brake pipe.
- Rust developing where the pipe has been chafing.
- Brake line moving excessively in the opening.
- Squeaking or light rubbing noises where movement is present.
- Grommet deformation caused by age or incorrect installation.
Because the grommet is small and often located in less visible areas, deterioration may only be discovered during brake-line inspection or restoration work.
Why Replacement Matters:
The brake pipe is a safety-critical component.
A damaged or missing grommet may not immediately cause a braking fault, but continued metal-to-metal contact can gradually damage the pipe.
Replacing the grommet helps restore:
- Correct brake-line support.
- Isolation from the vehicle body.
- Protection against chafing.
- Reduced vibration.
- Protection of the pipe’s outer coating.
- Reduced risk of localised corrosion.
- Factory-style brake-line routing.
- Long-term hydraulic system reliability.

• Position: Front left / right door, window lift regulator (cable type), used with the original electric window motor.
Function & Benefits:
• Provides smooth, controlled raising and lowering of the side window.
• Maintains correct glass alignment in the guides for proper sealing against wind and water.
• Restores OEM-style speed, noise levels and reliability of the electric window system.
With age, window regulators commonly suffer from frayed or snapped cables, broken plastic guides or distorted tracks, leading to slow, jerky or inoperative windows. A failing mechanism can allow the glass to drop, jam or sit crooked, causing water ingress, wind noise and security issues.
Replacing the unit with a new regulator restores:
• Reliable window operation from full up to full down
• Correct glass position against the door frame and seals
• Reduced rattles, squeaks and wind noise
• Confidence when using the window frequently
Typical signs it’s time to replace:
• Window drops on one side or tilts in the frame
• Grinding, clicking or cable noise inside the door
• Window stops part-way or won’t move at all
• Regulator cables visibly snapped or off the pulleys

The OE Match Air Conditioning Blower is a replacement cabin blower motor assembly designed for left-hand-drive Porsche Cayenne 958 models.
Fits:
- Porsche 958 Cayenne 2011 - 2018
Diagram Ref No 10
Located within the vehicle's heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system, the blower draws air into the HVAC unit and forces it through the cabin air filter, heater matrix, evaporator and ventilation ducts.
By varying blower speed, the climate-control system can regulate how much heated, cooled or fresh air reaches the passenger compartment.
A correctly operating blower is essential not only for cabin comfort but also for effective windscreen demisting and defrosting. If the original blower motor becomes noisy, intermittent, weak or stops altogether, replacing it restores the airflow needed for normal heater and air-conditioning operation.
What This Product Does:
The cabin blower provides the airflow used by the vehicle's heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system.
Its functions include:
- Drawing air into the HVAC system.
- Moving air through the cabin filter.
- Forcing air through the heater matrix when cabin heating is required.
- Moving air across the air-conditioning evaporator when cooling is required.
- Supplying air to dashboard, footwell and windscreen vents.
- Providing variable airflow according to the selected fan speed.
- Supporting automatic climate-control operation.
- Providing airflow for windscreen demisting.
- Supporting windscreen defrosting in cold conditions.
- Maintaining passenger-compartment ventilation.
- Replacing a noisy, seized, intermittent or failed original blower motor.
Without the blower operating correctly, the heating and air-conditioning systems may still generate hot or cold temperatures internally, but there may be insufficient airflow to distribute that conditioned air throughout the cabin.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible symptoms include:
- No airflow from the cabin vents.
- Airflow noticeably weaker than normal.
- Blower operating intermittently.
- Fan working only at certain speeds.
- Fan stopping without warning.
- Blower requiring several attempts before it starts.
- Squealing from behind the dashboard.
- Chirping or rubbing noises.
- Grinding noises from the blower motor.
- Rattling that changes with fan speed.
- Excessive vibration through the dashboard.
- Fan speed fluctuating without driver input.
- Blower running slowly despite a high-speed setting.
- Burning or hot electrical smell.
- Blown HVAC fuse.
- Climate-control fault codes.
- Windscreen taking longer than normal to demist.
- Heater or air-conditioning appearing ineffective because airflow is poor.
Similar symptoms can also be caused by a blocked cabin filter, wiring fault, blower controller, climate-control module or electrical supply problem, so diagnosis should be carried out before replacement.
Why Replacement Matters:
The blower is responsible for distributing conditioned air throughout the passenger compartment.
When it becomes weak or unreliable, heating and air-conditioning performance can be substantially reduced even if the rest of the HVAC system is operating correctly.
Replacing a failed blower helps restore:
- Correct cabin airflow.
- Reliable heater performance.
- Effective air-conditioning airflow.
- Faster windscreen demisting.
- Effective windscreen defrosting.
- Consistent ventilation.
- Normal climate-control operation.
- Quieter HVAC performance.
- Passenger comfort.

The OE Match Radiator Water Fan is a replacement electric cooling fan designed for selected Porsche Cayenne 955 and 957 models.
Mounted within the radiator cooling assembly, the electric fan draws air through the radiator and associated heat exchangers when additional airflow is required. This is particularly important when the vehicle is stationary, travelling slowly or operating under conditions where natural airflow through the front of the vehicle is insufficient.
By increasing airflow through the radiator, the fan helps remove heat from the engine coolant and supports stable operating temperatures. It also contributes to cooling-system and air-conditioning performance under demanding conditions.
The OE-equivalent fan is the smaller of the two radiator cooling fans, with the original Porsche specification listed at 300W and incorporating the fan's electronic output-stage control module.
Fits:- Porsche 955 Cayenne 2003-06
- Porsche 957 Cayenne 2007-09
Diagram Ref No 18
What This Product Does:
The radiator fan provides forced airflow through the cooling pack when vehicle speed alone does not provide sufficient air movement.
Its functions include:
- Drawing cooling air through the radiator.
- Helping remove heat from the engine coolant.
- Supporting stable engine operating temperature.
- Providing additional cooling when the vehicle is stationary.
- Increasing airflow during slow-speed driving.
- Supporting cooling during high ambient temperatures.
- Helping manage temperatures when the engine is under increased load.
- Supporting condenser airflow for the air-conditioning system.
- Working with the vehicle's electronic cooling controls to vary fan operation as required.
- Replacing a seized, noisy, damaged or electrically failed original fan.
The cooling system depends on both coolant circulation and airflow. Even with a good radiator and water pump, insufficient airflow can allow temperatures to rise when the vehicle is not moving quickly enough to force air through the radiator naturally.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible symptoms include:
- Engine temperature rising while stationary.
- Temperature increasing in slow-moving traffic.
- Engine temperature returning towards normal once vehicle speed increases.
- Cooling fan failing to operate when required.
- Fan operating intermittently.
- Fan running only at certain speeds.
- Fan remaining permanently on.
- Excessive fan noise.
- Grinding or scraping noises from the fan motor.
- Squealing from the fan bearing area.
- Fan blades rotating slowly.
- Fan failing to reach normal speed.
- Visible wobble while the fan is operating.
- Damaged or cracked fan blades.
- Fan contacting its shroud.
- Cooling-system warning messages.
- Engine overheating.
- Air-conditioning performance becoming poor while stationary.
- Blown cooling-fan fuse.
- Electrical fault codes relating to fan control.
- Burnt electrical smell from the fan or control electronics.
These symptoms can also be caused by coolant-system, wiring, sensor or control faults, so proper diagnosis should be carried out before replacement.
Why Replacement Matters:
The electric fan is a critical part of maintaining correct engine temperature when airflow through the radiator is limited.
A weak or non-operational fan can allow coolant temperature to rise beyond the intended operating range.
Replacing a faulty fan helps restore:
- Correct radiator airflow.
- Stable engine temperature.
- Reliable low-speed cooling.
- Improved cooling during idling.
- Correct air-conditioning condenser airflow.
- Consistent electronic fan control.
- Reduced risk of overheating.
- Reliable operation of the complete cooling system.
