Information
OE Match power steering pump seal kit for selected Porsche 928, 944, 964 and 968 applications. Intended for pump resealing work where leakage has been traced to deteriorated seals.
Fits
Porsche 928 / 944 / 964 / 968 1982-1995
Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.
What This Product Does
The kit provides replacement sealing components for servicing a compatible hydraulic steering pump. It is a seal kit rather than a complete pump, so the source of any leak and the condition of the pump should be established before repair.
Functions
- Renews deteriorated pump seals during repair.
- Helps contain hydraulic fluid at the repaired sealing points.
- Supports resealing of a serviceable pump assembly.
Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match.
- Component type: power steering pump seal kit.
- The supplied 964 assembly diagram identifies pump reference 96434743202.
- The supplied 968 assembly diagram identifies vane-type pump references 94434743208 and 944347432CX; the latter is marked as an exchange part.
- These diagram references identify associated pump assemblies, not individual kit contents.
Symptoms of Fault
Fluid around the pump, repeated loss of steering fluid, groaning noises or inconsistent assistance warrant inspection. These signs do not establish seal failure on their own: hoses, connections, belt condition and fluid level can produce similar complaints.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing failed seals addresses leakage at its source when the pump remains suitable for repair. Inspect adjoining hoses and fittings at the same time, rather than assuming that every fluid leak originates inside the pump. OE Match focuses on Porsche replacement applications, with specification and fitment checks forming part of its component selection.
FAQs
Does pump noise necessarily mean the seals need replacing?
No. Check the fluid supply, drive belt and possible air entry before deciding which component requires attention.
Should other steering components be inspected?
Yes. Examine nearby hoses, connections and supporting components for deterioration or additional leaks before reassembly.

O-ring power steering pump drive train
Genuine Porsche OE O-ring for the power steering pump drive train on Porsche 964 and 993 models. This original Porsche 40 x 4 mm O-ring seals the power steering pump drive / camshaft drive housing area, helping prevent fluid or oil leakage from the power steering drive assembly.
Sold individually
Fits:
Porsche 964 1989 -1994
Porsche 993 1994 - 1998
Diagram ref no 3
What This Part Does / Functions
• Seals the power steering pump drive housing connection
• Helps prevent leaks from the pump drive / camshaft drive area
• Maintains correct sealing around the power steering pump drive train
• Supports reliable power steering pump operation
• Replaces a hardened, flattened, cut or leaking original O-ring
• Provides correct OE Porsche size, material and fitment
• Supports correct reassembly after power steering pump or drive housing service
• Helps maintain factory sealing performance.
Why Replace This Part?
O-rings are exposed to heat, oil, fluid, pressure changes and age-related hardening. Over time, the rubber can flatten, crack, swell or lose elasticity. Once the power steering pump drive housing is removed or disturbed, the O-ring should normally be replaced to ensure a reliable seal when reassembled. Replacing it with a Genuine Porsche OE 40 x 4 mm O-ring helps restore the correct seal and reduce the risk of leaks around the power steering pump drive assembly.
Common Symptoms of a Failed O-Ring
• Fluid or oil leakage near the power steering pump drive area
• Residue around the camshaft / power steering pump housing joint
• Power steering pump area seepage
• Hardened, flattened or cracked O-ring during inspection
• Persistent leak after previous pump service
• Oil smell from hot engine components
• Fluid drips underneath the rear of the engine area
• Seal damage after power steering pump removal.
When to Replace This Part
• When removing or refitting the power steering pump drive housing
• During power steering pump service or replacement
• If leakage is found around the pump drive / camshaft seal area
• If the O-ring is hardened, flattened, cracked or damaged
• During engine or power steering system repair
• When resealing the power steering pump drive assembly
• After separating the power steering housing from the camshaft drive area
Where It Fits on the Car
This O-ring fits in the power steering pump drive train / camshaft drive housing area. It seals the joint between the power steering pump drive housing and the engine drive location on compatible Porsche 964 and 993 models. Correct installation is important. The sealing surfaces should be clean, and the O-ring should be fitted without twisting, pinching or damage.

The O-ring seals the power steering pump drive train connection to help prevent fluid seepage and maintain system integrity. A correctly fitted seal helps keep the pump drive area clean, reduces leakage risk, and supports reliable power steering system operation.
Functions
• Replaces the power steering pump drive train
• O-ring Seals the pump drive train connection
• Helps prevent fluid leaks and seepage
• Supports correct power steering system sealing
• Suitable for pump drive, steering system, or engine bay service
• Replaces hardened, flattened, cracked, swollen, or damaged

Replacing the O-ring helps restore proper sealing and helps prevent repeat leaks.
When to Replace This Part
• Fluid seepage is present around the power steering pump drive area
• The power steering pump or drive train components have been removed
• The original O-ring is hard, flattened, cracked, swollen, or damaged
• Power steering system sealing work is being carried out
• Engine bay fluid residue is visible near the pump drive assembly
• Preventative replacement is required during steering system service
• The vehicle is undergoing Porsche 964 or 993 restoration
Where it fits on the car
This O-ring fits within the power steering pump drive train / pump drive sealing area on Porsche 964 and 993 models. It forms part of the power steering pump drive sealing arrangement.
