The Porsche part is ugly roto-formed cheap plastic with parting lines whereas accurate replica is carbon fiber.
Saves 8 to 9lbs about 4Kg from the rear of all 964's and 993's. Will not work on C2 Turbos/965 cars.
Replaces blower motor assembly and ductwork and still allows plenty of heat just like the factory RS part.
Ultra cool clear coated real carbon fiber tube that really cleans up engine bay and makes working on engine easy.
Please Note:
All late model 993's 1996-98 (Varioram engines) require the 964 early type fan air guide shroud (as shown on exploded image)

Due to manufacturing tolerances and the nature of composite materials, minor trimming of excess material may be required during installation to ensure optimal fitment.

Whether you're restoring a classic 964, replacing deteriorated heater ducting or refurbishing the complete heating system, this OE Match heater hose provides factory-quality fitment and dependable long-term durability.
What Does the Heater Hose Do?
The heater hose connects the engine's heating ductwork to the heater air flap assembly, allowing heated air generated by the engine cooling fan and heat exchangers to be directed into the cabin when required.
Its primary functions include:
- Carrying heated air to the heater air flap.
- Maintaining efficient airflow through the heating system.
- Supporting rapid cabin heating.
- Helping deliver effective windscreen demisting and defrosting.
- Preventing warm air from escaping before reaching the heater controls.
- Maintaining the correct operation of the Porsche heating and ventilation system.
A correctly sealed heater hose helps maximise heating efficiency and passenger comfort.
Why Do Heater Hoses Fail?
Heater hoses operate in a high-temperature environment and
gradually deteriorate through age and continual heat exposure. Common causes of
failure include:
- Heat cycling causing the material to harden.
- Age-related cracking and splitting.
- Perishing caused by engine bay temperatures.
- Oil contamination degrading the hose material.
- Abrasion against surrounding components.
- General deterioration after years of service.
As the hose deteriorates it can develop splits, become brittle or collapse, allowing valuable heated air to escape before reaching the cabin.
When Should the Heater Hose Be Replaced?
The heater hose should be inspected whenever the heating
system or engine is serviced. Replacement is recommended if you notice:
- Cracked or brittle hose material.
- Torn or split ducting.
- Loose hose connections.
- Reduced cabin heating performance.
- Poor windscreen demisting.
- Visible heat damage or distortion.
Many Porsche specialists recommend replacing ageing heater hoses during engine-out servicing or whenever the heating ductwork is being refurbished.

Porsche 964 / 993 1989 - 1998 EXCEPT 95's*.
993's require the 964 fan shroud part # 964.106.403.02 .
Many people are using these on 95's but fitment at the base is poor, and we do not recommend installation on this model year.
Rennline’s blower motor bypass pipe is a carbon fiber replica of the factory installed unit found on the lightweight 3.6 RS race cars. This pipe allows you to save 9 pounds from the removal of the factory blower motor assembly, but still have a functioning heater system in your car. Manufactured from ultra strong, lightweight carbon fiber and comes equipped with the aluminium fitting for the distributor breather tube.
