Set of 3 rollers
Fits:
Porsche 914
Porsche 924S
Porsche 944 (also S, S2 and turbo)
Porsche 968
Old electric windows become sluggish and sometimes stutter. This is often due to the worn roles that are clipped on the ends of the cross arms. They are worn, partly stuck and then no longer roll off at the lower edge of the pane. Partly the roles are also completely broken off. They are not individually available at Porsche and so there was no alternative than to look for a slightly better, used and still expensive windows.
With this set of three rollers and a teflon-containing (= PTFE) lubricant can be a window lifter (left or right) renew. The rollers are made of a durable thermoplastic material.

Electric Window Relay
Restore reliable operation of your Porsche's electric
windows with this Electric Window Relay. This relay controls the electrical
power supplied to the power window system, ensuring smooth, dependable
operation every time you press the window switch.
Fits:
This genuine replacement installs directly into the factory relay board, occupying relay position G7 on Porsche 944 and 968 models and relay position VI on the Porsche 928.
Whether you're repairing intermittent window faults or carrying out preventative maintenance, using a Genuine Porsche relay ensures the correct electrical performance, durability and compatibility expected from an original factory component.
What Does the Electric Window Relay Do?
The electric window relay is an essential part of the vehicle's power window electrical circuit.
Its functions include:
- Controlling power delivery to the electric window motors.
- Providing switched electrical current to the window system.
- Protecting window switches from carrying high electrical loads.
- Ensuring smooth and reliable window operation.
- Supporting safe and consistent operation of both driver and passenger windows.
Without a correctly functioning relay, the power window system may not receive the electrical supply required for normal operation.
Why Do Electric Window Relays Fail?
Electrical relays operate every time the windows are used and are subjected to thousands of switching cycles throughout their service life.
Common causes of failure include:
- Internal contact wear.
- Heat generated by repeated electrical switching.
- Oxidation of electrical contacts.
- Age-related deterioration of internal components.
- Moisture entering the relay board.
- High electrical loads caused by ageing window motors or regulators.
As the relay ages, internal resistance increases, leading to unreliable or intermittent electrical operation.
When Should the Relay Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended when:
- Electric windows stop working intermittently.
- Both windows fail to operate despite good switches and motors.
- The relay clicks but the windows do not move.
- Window operation becomes unreliable.
- Diagnosing electrical faults within the power window system.
- Restoring an original Porsche electrical system.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on higher-mileage vehicles.
Replacing a faulty relay is often one of the quickest and most cost-effective ways to restore dependable electric window operation.

Kit Contains:
3 x replacement window regulator rollers for one window
1 xGrease to pre-lube the rollers
The regulator rollers guide the window mechanism smoothly along its tracks every time the window is raised or lowered. Over years of use, the original plastic rollers can become brittle, crack or wear flat, causing the window to bind, move unevenly or stop operating altogether. Replacing the rollers restores smooth movement while extending the life of the complete regulator assembly and window motor.
Ideal for preventative maintenance, restoration projects or repairing faulty window mechanisms, this OE Match repair kit provides a cost-effective alternative to replacing the complete window regulator.
What Does the Window Regulator Roller Repair Kit Do?
The window regulator rollers are responsible for guiding the regulator mechanism as it raises and lowers the door glass.
Their primary functions include:
- Providing smooth movement of the window regulator.
- Guiding the window mechanism along its tracks.
- Reducing friction within the regulator assembly.
- Supporting accurate window alignment.
- Reducing load on the electric window motor.
- Helping prevent regulator wear.
- Maintaining smooth and quiet window operation.
Properly functioning rollers are essential for reliable electric window performance and help minimise unnecessary wear on surrounding components.
Why Replace the Window Regulator Rollers?
Window regulator rollers experience constant movement and loading throughout the life of the vehicle.
Common reasons for replacement include:
- Worn or flattened rollers.
- Cracked or broken plastic rollers.
- Excessive friction.
- Binding window mechanism.
- Noisy window operation.
- Regulator overhaul.
- Preventative maintenance.
- Window restoration projects.
Replacing the rollers restores smooth regulator movement and helps avoid premature failure of the window motor and regulator assembly.
Symptoms of Worn Window Regulator Rollers
Common warning signs include:
- Slow window movement.
- Window sticking during operation.
- Jerky or uneven window travel.
- Clicking or grinding noises inside the door.
- Window tilting as it moves.
- Electric motor straining.
- Window failing to fully open or close.
- Visible damage to the regulator rollers during inspection.
Addressing worn rollers early can help prevent more expensive repairs to the regulator and electric window motor.
Benefits
- Restores smooth electric window operation.
- Reduces strain on the window motor.
- Eliminates sticking and uneven movement.
- Helps prolong the life of the window regulator.
- Quiet, reliable operation.
- Factory-quality fitment.

Installation Recommendations
For the best results, inspect or service associated
components during installation, including:
- Window regulator assembly.
- Electric window motor.
- Window guide rails.
- Door glass guides.
- Window channels.
- Door moisture barrier.
- Door clips and fasteners.
- Window switches and electrical connections.
Clean the regulator tracks thoroughly and apply a suitable window regulator lubricant before reassembly. After installation, check that the window travels smoothly throughout its full range and that the glass aligns correctly with the door seals.

Window mechanisms are the core components that allow your Porsche’s windows to move smoothly up and down. Located inside the door panel, these assemblies typically consist of a regulator, cables, pulleys, and guides that work together to raise or lower the glass when activated by the electric window motor and switch.
At Design911, we supply high-quality window mechanism assemblies for all Porsche models - from classic air-cooled 911s to the latest Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera. Each part is designed to restore precise window movement and perfect alignment, ensuring your car retains its comfort, performance, and style.
What Do Window Mechanisms Do?
The window mechanism (or regulator) transfers motion from
the electric window motor to the glass. It ensures smooth, consistent, and
balanced movement of the window within the guide rails. Depending on your
Porsche model, the system may use a cable-operated, scissor-type,
or gear-driven design.
A correctly functioning window mechanism ensures:
- Smooth and quiet window travel.
- Secure sealing against wind and rain.
- Reliable operation for ventilation and safety.
Why Do Window Mechanisms Fail?
Over time, window regulators can wear out due to repeated
use, exposure to moisture, and mechanical stress. Common causes of failure
include:
Signs of failure include grinding noises, slow window operation, or glass stuck halfway.
Why Replace Faulty Window Mechanisms?
A failing window mechanism compromises both comfort and
safety. A window that won’t close properly can let in rain, reduce security, or
fail an MOT test. Replacing a worn mechanism ensures:
- Restored smooth window movement.
- Improved cabin comfort and quietness.
- Proper sealing and protection from elements.
- Prevention of further motor or switch damage.
Design911 offers OEM-spec and genuine Porsche window mechanisms for an exact fit and long service life — the ideal solution to restore factory-quality operation and appearance.
