In F1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. DESIGN AND MATERIALS

With no moving airflow door restricting the intake, the engine can breathe more freely while the ECU receives accurate electronic airflow information throughout the operating range. Why Replace the Original Bosch AFM?
The original Bosch Motronic system uses a spring-loaded flap connected to a potentiometer to measure incoming air.
Although effective technology for its time, the mechanical flap creates a physical restriction within the intake. At low RPM and partial throttle, when the flap is only slightly open, this restriction can dull throttle response and make the engine feel less responsive.
