Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera - 1984 to 1989
Porsche 928 - 1980 to 1986 (non CIS)
Replaces Bosch 0280160262, 0280160232, 0280160215, Porsche 92811019802, 92811019801, 92811019800, 92811019826 (2.5 Bar no vacuum line connected)
Most of these regulators are original and now nearly 40 years old so they are prone to leak or fail causing all sorts of running and tuning issues. They are easy to replace, albeit a little bit fiddly being at the front of the manifold for the 3.2ltr engine. To suit the lower operating fuel pressure of the 3.2 Motronic, we use an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This simple and elegant design uses steel O-Ring boss sealing adapters to the manifold.
Easily replaceable fuel pressure regulator.
Spare outlet for fuel pressure gauge or sensor.
The adjustable fuel pressure regulator has been tested with Bosch 044 fuel pumps, but the upper limit of fuel flow rate has not been tested.
Kit Includes:
- Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera / early 928 (non CIS) OEM fitting kit - SPA adjustable fuel pressure regulator
- Fuel pressure regulator body x 1
- 2.0 to 5.0 adjustable fuel pressure regulator instead of fixed regulator x 1
- Adapter fittings to fit OEM hose and fuel rail ends x 2
- Hose Tail fitting to fit factory return line x 1
- ORB Plug x 1
This kit must use the adjustable fuel pressure regulator as Bosch does not produce a standard 2.5bar pressure regulator in this form.
Please Note
Other fittings and options such as fuel pressure sensors, or fuel pressure gauges available upon request.
We have also developed fuel pressure dampers for the 3.2 and 928 engines, check out our site for the product details.
The fuel pressure regulator needs to be adjusted and set on the car after installation to ensure the operating conditions meet the factory specifications. A fuel pressure gauge and fittings to adapt to the factory fuel rails is required to be able to complete this procedure. The regulators are not shipped pre-set to the 2.5bar operating pressure.
We can also provide a solution for early 944 replacing Porsche part number 94411019801, Bosch part number 0280160214,

Porsche Fuel Pressure Regulators - Precision Fuel Delivery Control
Fuel Pressure Regulators control and stabilise fuel pressure within the injection system, ensuring the correct amount of fuel is delivered to the engine under all operating conditions. Accurate fuel pressure is critical for combustion efficiency, throttle response, and engine safety—particularly in tuned or high-performance Porsche engines.
Available from Design911, Porsche fuel regulators include OEM replacements and performance upgrades designed to maintain consistent fuel pressure, support increased fuel demand, and improve reliability in performance-driven applications.
What Do Fuel Regulators Do?
Fuel regulators maintain controlled and consistent fuel pressure across the fuel system.
Core Functions:
- Regulate fuel pressure to injectors.
- Ensure consistent fuel delivery under varying load.
- Protect injectors and fuel pump from pressure spikes.
- Support accurate air-fuel ratios.
- Maintain stable engine performance and efficiency.
Precise fuel pressure is essential for reliable engine operation.
Why Do Fuel Regulators Fail?
Over time, fuel pressure regulators can degrade due to heat,
contamination, and mechanical wear. Common failure causes include:
- Diaphragm fatigue or rupture.
- Internal spring wear affecting pressure control.
- Fuel contamination causing blockage or sticking.
- Heat exposure in engine bay environments.
- Increased fuel demand from tuned engines exceeding stock capacity.
Failing regulators can lead to poor performance, fuel starvation, rich running, or engine damage.
Why Upgrade to a Performance Fuel Regulator?
Performance fuel regulators are engineered to handle higher fuel demands with greater precision.
Upgrade Benefits:
- More accurate and stable fuel pressure control.
- Improved support for tuned or modified engines.
- Enhanced reliability under high load and RPM.
- Compatibility with upgraded injectors and fuel pumps.
- Essential for safe performance tuning and engine builds.
Upgrading ensures the fuel system can meet increased performance demands safely.
