Diagram ref no 4
This is a small factory fastening component used on the air cleaner / air intake housing assembly.
What This Part Does / Functions
• Secures the air cleaner housing cover
• Provides a fixing point for the air box cover screw
• Helps keep the air cleaner cover correctly seated
• Supports proper air cleaner housing assembly fitment
• Replaces a missing, corroded, worn or damaged original speed nut
• Helps prevent loose air box cover panels
• Provides correct Genuine Porsche fitment and fastening specification
• Supports proper reassembly after air filter or intake system service.
Why Replace This Part?
Speed nuts can become worn, corroded, bent or lost during air filter replacement and intake system servicing. If the speed nut is missing or damaged, the air cleaner housing cover may not secure correctly, which can cause poor fitment, rattling or incorrect sealing of the air box cover.
Replacing it with a Genuine Porsche speed nut helps restore the correct factory fastening arrangement.
When to Replace This Part
• During air filter replacement if the speed nut is missing or damaged
• When removing or refitting the air cleaner housing cover
• If the cover screw no longer holds securely
• During air box or intake housing repair
• If the original clip nut is corroded, loose or distorted
• When replacing worn air cleaner housing hardware
• During engine bay restoration.
Where It Fits on the Car
This speed nut fits on the air cleaner housing cover / air box cover assembly. It provides the retained threaded fixing point for the cover hardware.
Correct installation helps ensure the housing cover sits securely and the air cleaner assembly remains properly fastened.
