Transmission mount bracket
This OE Match transmission mount bracket is a replacement gearbox mounting support bracket for Porsche 964 models. It is designed to match the original-style fitment and function, helping secure the transmission correctly within the vehicle.
Fits:
Porsche 964 Carrera 2 / Carrera RS 1989 - 1994
Porsche 964 Turbo 1991 - 1993
* cars with manual transmission
* G50.03 / G50.04 / G50.05 / G50.10 / G50.52
Diagram ref no 16
The transmission mount bracket supports the gearbox mounting assembly and helps locate the transmission in the correct position. It works with the transmission mounts to control drivetrain movement, absorb vibration, and maintain proper alignment between the gearbox, engine, and chassis.
Functions
• Supports the transmission mounting assembly
• Helps secure the gearbox to the chassis mounting points
• Maintains correct drivetrain alignment
• Works with the transmission mounts to reduce vibration and movement
• Helps protect surrounding drivetrain components from excess stress
• Replaces damaged, corroded, bent, or worn original brackets
• OE Match replacement for transmission service, repair, or restoration.
Why Replace This Part?
Transmission mount brackets can become corroded, bent, cracked, damaged, or weakened over time, especially on vehicles exposed to road dirt, moisture, vibration, or previous drivetrain repairs. A damaged bracket can affect gearbox alignment, increase vibration, cause unwanted drivetrain movement, or place extra stress on the mounts and mounting hardware. Replacing the bracket helps restore secure transmission support and correct drivetrain installation.
When to Replace This Part
• The original bracket is cracked, bent, rusty, or damaged
• The transmission mount area shows signs of excessive movement
• Gearbox vibration or drivetrain movement is present
• The transmission mounts are being replaced
• The gearbox has been removed or refitted
• Mounting holes, studs, or bracket surfaces are worn or distorted
• The vehicle is undergoing drivetrain restoration or gearbox repair.
Where it fits on the car
This bracket fits at the transmission mounting area on Porsche 964 models. It forms part of the gearbox support system and is used with the transmission mount assembly to secure the drivetrain to the chassis.
