Installed within the rear suspension strut mounting assembly, the washer sits between the shock absorber mount and associated suspension hardware. It helps spread mounting loads evenly across the shock absorber top mount, reducing stress concentration on suspension components while supporting correct alignment and secure fastening of the rear suspension system
This washer is commonly replaced during rear shock absorber servicing, suspension rebuilds, or top mount replacement work. Over time, mounting hardware can become worn, distorted, or corroded due to repeated suspension load cycles and environmental exposure. Replacing worn suspension washers helps maintain correct mounting integrity and ensures proper operation of the rear suspension assembly.
The washer is also referenced under previous Porsche part number 99902527102
The rear shock mount washer distributes suspension mounting load across the shock absorber top mount assembly, helping maintain secure suspension fastening, correct alignment, and stable suspension operation.
Function
• Supports rear shock absorber mounting assembly
• Distributes suspension load evenly across mounting surfaces
• Helps maintain secure shock absorber fastening
• Reduces stress on suspension mounting components
• Supports stable rear suspension operation and alignment
Suspension mounting hardware is subjected to constant load, vibration, and road impact. Over time, washers can become distorted, fatigued, or corroded, potentially affecting suspension mounting integrity and alignment. Replacing worn suspension washers during shock absorber or top mount servicing helps ensure secure assembly and reliable suspension performance.
When to replace
• During rear shock absorber replacement
• During suspension top mount servicing
• Corroded or damaged mounting hardware
• Suspension overhaul or refurbishment
