Diagram Ref No 5
Ideal for interior repairs and restoration work, the kit provides a replacement for the inner mounting mechanism.
What Does It Do?
The inner sun visor mounting supports and secures the visor at its attachment point near the windscreen.
It helps keep the visor correctly located while allowing normal adjustment to shield the driver or passenger from sunlight.
Why Is It Important?
A damaged mounting can leave the sun visor loose, incorrectly positioned or unable to remain securely attached.
Replacing the mounting helps restore proper visor operation and maintains a tidy interior appearance.
Why Does It Fail?
Common causes include:
- Wear from repeated visor movement
- Cracked or broken mounting components
- Excessive force when adjusting the visor
- Damage during interior trim removal
- Age-related deterioration
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended if the sun visor:
- Feels loose at its inner mounting
- Rattles or moves excessively
- No longer remains securely attached
- Has a visibly cracked or broken mounting
Installation Notes
Identify the damaged mounting and select the correct left-hand or right-hand repair kit.
Inspect the surrounding trim and fixing points before installation. Ensure the replacement mounting is correctly secured and the visor operates freely.
