What This Product Does
The Stabilus POWERISE drive combines powered tailgate movement with lid support. It assists the automatic opening and closing system while helping to hold the boot lid securely in its programmed position.
Functions
- Provides powered movement for the rear boot lid
- Supports the lid while it is open
- Helps maintain smooth and controlled tailgate travel
- Fits either the left-hand or right-hand mounting position
- Connects to the vehicle's electric tailgate system
Technical Details
- Manufacturer: Stabilus
- Product line: POWERISE electromechanical drive
- Stabilus reference: 432617

Symptoms of Fault
- Boot lid drops or will not remain fully open
- Tailgate moves slowly, unevenly or only opens part-way
- One side of the lid rises before the other
- Creaking, knocking or straining noises during operation
- Intermittent or failed powered opening and closing
- Visible damage, corrosion or fluid residue around the drive unit
Why Replacement Matters
A weak or failed drive can make the tailgate difficult to operate and may place uneven loads on the hinges and mounting points. Where both units have similar age and use, replacing them as a pair can help provide balanced lifting force. Support the boot lid securely during installation and inspect the ball studs, brackets, electrical connectors and mounting points for wear or corrosion.

FAQs
- Is this supplied as a pair?
No. It is supplied individually, and two units are fitted per vehicle. - Can it be installed on either side?
Yes. The drive is suitable for the left or right installation position. - Should both drives be renewed together?
Pair replacement is advisable where both original units are similarly worn, helping to maintain even tailgate movement. - Does the lid need supporting during replacement?
Yes. Secure the boot lid against accidental lowering before removing either drive unit. - May adjustment be required after installation?
The powered tailgate system may require its opening height or drive settings to be checked after fitting.
