- Porsche 996 GT2 2001-05
The Fabspeed X-50 Style Exhaust Tips are premium replacement exhaust outlets designed for the 2001–2005 Porsche 996 GT2.
Fits:
- Porsche 996 GT2 2001-05
Designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade, these tips can be fitted to the factory exhaust system as well as compatible aftermarket exhausts. The X-50-inspired design gives the rear of the 996 GT2 a distinctive performance-focused appearance while providing a durable replacement for ageing, damaged or heavily discoloured original exhaust outlets.
Manufactured from high-quality 14–16 gauge T304L stainless steel, the tips are engineered to withstand high exhaust temperatures, condensation, road contamination and repeated thermal cycles.
What This Product Does:
Exhaust tips form the visible final section of the exhaust system and provide the outlet through which exhaust gases leave the vehicle.
The Fabspeed X-50 Style Tips are designed primarily to:
- Replace worn, corroded or damaged original exhaust tips
- Provide an X-50-inspired performance appearance
- Maintain secure and correctly positioned exhaust outlets
- Refresh the appearance of the rear exhaust system
- Fit factory and compatible aftermarket exhaust systems
- Provide durable stainless-steel construction
- Allow a straightforward bolt-on upgrade without replacing the complete exhaust
These tips are primarily an appearance, durability and replacement upgrade rather than a significant engine-performance modification.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Exhaust tips are continuously exposed to high temperatures, moisture, condensation, exhaust deposits and road debris.
Common signs that replacement may be required include:
- Surface rust or corrosion
- Pitting in the metal
- Permanent staining or heat discolouration
- Heavy soot accumulation
- Peeling or deterioration of the original finish
- Dents or deformation
- Scratches or impact damage
- Loose mounting points
- Rattling or vibration
- Cracks around welds or attachment areas
- Tips sitting unevenly or out of alignment
- Contact with the bumper or surrounding trim
- Severely corroded mounting hardware
- A deteriorated appearance that cannot be restored through cleaning or polishing
Cosmetic deterioration alone may not affect exhaust operation, but severe corrosion or damaged mounting points can eventually allow the tip to become loose.
Why Replacement Matters:
Exhaust tips are a prominent feature at the rear of the Porsche 996 GT2, so worn or damaged outlets can noticeably affect the appearance of the vehicle.
More importantly, a loose or distorted exhaust tip can vibrate, rattle or move sufficiently to contact the rear bumper or surrounding trim.
Continued movement can result in:
- Unwanted rattling and vibration
- Damage to surrounding bumper trim
- Increased stress on exhaust mounting hardware
- Poor exhaust outlet alignment
- Further deterioration of attachment points
- Possible detachment if mounting areas become severely weakened
Replacing worn exhaust tips helps restore secure mounting, correct positioning and a clean finished appearance.
Where the main exhaust system remains serviceable, replacing only the tips is also a practical way to refresh the vehicle without replacing silencers, catalytic converters or other major exhaust components.
