Information
Breather Line For Coolant Expansion Tank.
The Breather Line for Coolant Expansion Tank is a genuine Porsche OEM cooling system hose designed to connect the coolant expansion tank to the engine’s cooling circuit. This breather line allows the system to manage air and pressure changes while routing overflow coolant within the closed-loop cooling system. By supporting proper ventilation and coolant return flow, it helps maintain stable engine operating temperatures and reliable cooling performance. Manufactured to Porsche specifications, it ensures precise fitment, durability, and resistance to heat and coolant exposure for Porsche Panamera models.

What This Product Does:
- Vents trapped air and vapours from the cooling system into the expansion tank.
- Routes overflow coolant between the reservoir and the cooling circuit as temperatures rise and fall.
- Helps maintain proper system pressure balance, preventing over-pressurisation.
- Supports stable coolant circulation by reducing air pockets within the cooling loop.
- Cracks or loose connections can cause coolant seepage around the reservoir area.
- A leaking breather line can lead to gradual coolant loss, requiring frequent top-ups.
- If the hose cannot vent properly, the system may experience excess pressure or improper pressure regulation.
- Low coolant or temperature warnings may appear if coolant loss occurs.
- A coolant odor in the engine bay is a common sign of leakage from the vent line.
- Common signs include cracking or splitting, hardened or brittle rubber, swollen sections, degraded connectors or fittings, coolant residue buildup.
- Air entering the system or coolant loss can reduce cooling efficiency.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Prevents coolant leaks that can lead to low coolant levels and reduced cooling efficiency.
- Maintains correct pressure regulation, allowing the cooling system to expand and contract safely as temperatures change.
- Helps avoid engine overheating, since coolant loss or trapped air can disrupt circulation.
- Prevents air pockets in the cooling system, which can reduce heat transfer efficiency.
- Protects surrounding components, as leaking coolant can damage sensors, wiring, and nearby engine parts.
