Porsche 911 1974 - 1983 2.7L / 3.0L SC
These OE match front brake calipers are direct replacement units engineered to replicate the original Porsche “A-Type” calipers fitted to 911 models from 1974 to 1983. Designed for vehicles equipped with 2.7L and 3.0L SC engines, they integrate seamlessly into the factory braking system.
Each caliper is side-specific and sold separately:
• Left (driver side): 91135142502
• Right (passenger side): 91135142602
These units are designed for direct bolt-on installation and are compatible with original brake discs and pads, making them ideal for restoration, maintenance, or performance reliability upgrades.
The brake caliper clamps the brake pads against the brake disc when the brake pedal is pressed. This creates friction, slowing the rotation of the wheel and bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop. The fixed design ensures consistent braking performance and even pad wear.
Function
• Applies braking force to discs via brake pads
• Distributes pressure evenly across the braking surface
• Converts hydraulic pressure into mechanical braking force
• Supports stable, controlled stopping performance
• Ensures consistent braking response under load
Brake calipers are exposed to heat, moisture, and constant mechanical stress. Over time, seals can degrade, pistons can seize, and corrosion may affect performance. Worn calipers can lead to uneven braking, reduced stopping power, and increased wear on discs and pads. Replacing them restores braking efficiency, safety, and driving confidence.
When to replace
• Brake caliper sticking or seized piston
• Uneven brake pad wear
• Reduced braking performance or pulling to one side
• Fluid leaks around caliper seals
• During brake system overhaul or restoration

Front Brake Calipers
Restore confident braking performance with Front Brake
Calipers, designed for Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera
models from 1984 to 1989. Positioned at the front axle, these calipers are
essential braking components responsible for applying clamping force to the
brake discs, helping slow the vehicle safely and consistently.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
- Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
Brake calipers work together with the brake pads, discs and hydraulic braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, brake fluid pressure forces the caliper pistons to push the pads against the disc, creating friction and reducing vehicle speed. Because the front brakes handle a large proportion of braking force, properly functioning front calipers are critical for safe road use and predictable braking performance.
Over time, calipers can suffer from corrosion, seized pistons, worn seals, fluid leaks and uneven pad movement. Replacing worn or faulty front calipers helps restore braking balance, pedal feel and stopping confidence.
What Do Front Brake Calipers Do?
Front brake calipers convert hydraulic pressure from the braking system into mechanical clamping force. This force presses the brake pads against the rotating brake discs, generating the friction needed to slow or stop the vehicle.
Correctly functioning front calipers help provide:
Strong and consistent braking force Stable pedal feel Balanced front braking performance Even brake pad wear Reliable stopping power Improved safety in everyday and spirited drivingSymptoms of Brake Caliper Wear or Failure
Brake calipers operate in a harsh environment and are exposed to heat, road debris, moisture and brake dust. Over time, internal seals, pistons and sliding surfaces can deteriorate.
Common symptoms of worn or failing front brake calipers include:
Vehicle pulling to one side under braking Uneven brake pad wear Brake fluid leaks around the caliper Spongy or inconsistent brake pedal feel Reduced braking performance Brake drag or sticking brakes Excessive brake dust on one wheel Burning smell after driving Overheating brake disc or wheel Squealing, grinding or rubbing noises Brake warning light caused by fluid lossIf a caliper piston sticks or a seal fails, braking performance can become unpredictable and unsafe.
Why Brake Caliper Replacement Matters
Replacing worn or faulty front brake calipers is essential for restoring safe and predictable braking performance. A failing caliper can cause brake imbalance, overheating, premature pad and disc wear and reduced stopping power.
Replacement helps:
Restore correct braking force Improve pedal feel and response Prevent brake drag and overheating Reduce uneven pad and disc wear Eliminate hydraulic fluid leaks Maintain balanced braking performance Improve safety and driver confidenceFor a classic Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera, maintaining the braking system in excellent condition is vital for preserving the driving experience and safety the car was engineered to deliver.
Features & Benefits
- Restores reliable braking performance
- Supports strong and consistent stopping power
- Helps maintain correct brake pedal feel
- Ideal for maintenance, repair and restoration projects
- Direct replacement for worn or damaged original calipers
Keep your Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera braking system performing safely and consistently with front brake calipers from Design911

These are direct replacement calipers for the rear left (part number 91135242500) or rear right (part number 91135242600) side of a mid-1980s Porsche 911. They are manufactured to the dimensions, fitment, and technical specifications of the original. Replacing these calipers restores the correct brake pressure, pad alignment, and brake disc-to-rear wheel contact, restoring braking balance and safety.
Porsche 911 1984 - 1989
Brake calipers are crucial for safe, controlled stopping. Over time, calipers can suffer from corrosion, seized or sticking pistons, worn seals, fluid leakage or uneven pad wear. Especially on aging cars, the rear calipers may lose proper clamping force, causing longer stopping distances, uneven braking, noise or poor pad life.
Replace these calipers when you notice:
• Brake fluid leakage around the caliper body or piston area
• Uneven or rapid pad wear on the rear wheel
• Reduced braking performance, dragging wheel or vibration
• Maintenance/restore of the braking system during a rebuild
Installing a correct-fit caliper restores proper braking clamp, pad and rotor alignment and ensures your classic Porsche retains its intended braking performance and safety.

What This Product Does
A bleed valve provides a controlled outlet for releasing trapped air and old hydraulic fluid during brake system bleeding. Once the procedure is complete, the valve is tightened to seal the hydraulic circuit.
Functions
- Provides an outlet during brake fluid bleeding
- Allows trapped air to be removed from the caliper
- Seals the bleed passage when correctly tightened
- Supports routine brake fluid and caliper servicing
Technical Details
- Manufacturer: Genuine Porsche
- Primary part number: 93035191900
- Supplied quantity: Pack of 2
- Position: Suitable for applicable front and rear installations
- Also identified as a ventilation valve in Porsche parts diagrams
- Diagram Ref: No 11 & 12
Symptoms of Fault
- Brake fluid seepage around the bleed valve
- A seized or corroded valve that cannot be opened
- Rounded or damaged tool flats
- A blocked bleed passage preventing correct fluid flow
- Air remaining in the hydraulic circuit after attempted bleeding
- Damage to the valve seat or threads
Why Replacement Matters
A damaged, corroded or blocked valve can prevent the caliper from being bled correctly or may fail to seal against fluid loss. Replacing the affected valve restores access to the bleed passage and supports correct hydraulic system servicing. Inspect the caliper threads and sealing seat before installation, and have brake work completed by a suitably qualified technician.
Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.

FAQs
- What is included?
A pack containing two brake caliper bleed valves with cover caps. - Can these valves be used at the front or rear?
They are listed for applicable front and rear caliper installations. Confirm the part number against the specific vehicle and caliper. - How many valves are required?
The required quantity depends on the caliper and axle assembly. Some Porsche diagrams specify four valves for a complete axle assembly, while this product contains two. - When should a bleed valve be replaced?
Replacement is appropriate when the valve is seized, leaking, blocked, physically damaged or unable to seal correctly.
