The shock absorber for those drivers who prefer a sports suspension but are not particularly interested in lowering the body. Also available in special design complete with reservoir for off-road vehicles.
No risk, more fun
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it. The theme of the discussion here is the sports suspension. The BILSTEIN B6 Sports shock absorber is the ideal solution for drivers revelling in the understatement . The wolf in sheep's clothing snarls, when necessary, but otherwise goes reliably about its work in daily traffic with no lowering of the body whatsoever.
Optimum road holding, enhanced tracking stabilisation and excellent damping force: the BILSTEIN B6 Sports is not only first choice as far as sports tuning is concerned but also in the sphere of safety.

Bilstein Replacement for the Original Spec
Fits:
Porsche 997 C4 / C4S / Turbo - For vehicles with PASM, For vehicles with electronic suspension control
B4 High Quality direct replacement shock absorbers constructed and finished to Bilstein's high standards often far and above what the car was originally supplied with. They can actually be a performance improvement if replacing plain, none gas charged, oil filled dampers. They dramatically reduce cavitation / oil foaming, thus give for more stable damping forces when driven 'spiritedly'. Some surprising cars come with plain oil filled dampers.
Key Features:
- Twin Tube Damper
- Gas pressurized
- OE damping forces

Bilstein Sports B6 front and rear shock absorbers for Porsche 997 Carrera 4, Carrera 4S and Turbo models from 07/2004 with electronic suspension control, offering PASM-compatible damping tailored to these all-wheel-drive 911s.
What This Product Does These Bilstein B6 Sports dampers replace the original front and rear shock absorbers on PASM-equipped 997 C4, C4S and Turbo models. They are designed to work with the factory electronic suspension control, helping maintain consistent damping behaviour across selected modes while renewing worn or leaking original units.
Functions
- Support PASM-equipped suspension with compatible damping characteristics
- Control vertical wheel and body movement over bumps
- Help maintain stable tyre contact with the road surface
- Assist in keeping the car composed during braking and acceleration
- Work with the factory control system to vary damping by mode
- Contribute to a tidy, well-maintained suspension setup when refreshing other components
Symptoms of Fault
- Excessive bouncing or floaty, unsettled ride
- Knocking noises from the suspension area over bumps
- Visible oil leaks on the damper bodies
- Uneven or accelerated tyre wear
- PASM warning messages or inconsistent behaviour between modes
- Car feeling less composed in quick direction changes
Why Replacement Matters Over time, PASM dampers can suffer from internal wear, oil leakage and age-related deterioration, especially on higher-mileage 997 models. Replacing tired units with PASM-compatible Bilstein B6 Sports shock absorbers helps restore predictable damping response so the adaptive system can function as intended. This supports stable handling, consistent behaviour between modes and a more cohesive feel when combined with service items such as mounts and bushes.

FAQs
- Do these work with PASM?
They are intended for Porsche models with electronic suspension control and are designed to operate with the PASM system when correctly matched to the vehicle. - Should dampers be replaced in pairs or as a full set?
They are typically renewed in axle pairs (both fronts or both rears), with many owners choosing to replace all four at the same time on higher-mileage cars. - Is an alignment required after installation?
An alignment check is usually recommended after suspension work to confirm geometry is within specification. - Anything else to replace at the same time?
It is common to inspect and, if necessary, renew top mounts, bushes and any worn hardware while access is available.
