NOTE: This aluminium transmission oil pan is sold as a complete assembly, and there is no standalone filter element available as a replacement item.
What It Does
The PDK oil sump plays a critical role in the operation of your dual-clutch transmission system. It houses the transmission fluid and filter, which together:
- Lubricate
internal components to reduce wear and friction.
- Regulate
temperature by dispersing heat generated during gear shifts.
- Filter
debris and metal particles, ensuring clean fluid circulation.
- Maintain hydraulic pressure stability for smooth and consistent gear engagement.
This aluminium replacement sump provides a warp-free sealing surface, optimal thermal conductivity, and OE-fit dimensions for a simple bolt-on installation.
Why PDK Oil Sumps Fail
The standard composite (plastic) transmission pans found in
many performance cars are susceptible to:
- Warping
from heat cycles, leading to fluid leaks and improper sealing.
- Cracking
or distortion caused by torque stress or road debris impact.
- Thread
wear from repeated fluid services.
- Built-in non-replaceable filters, requiring complete pan replacement during each service.
Additionally, neglecting transmission fluid changes
can cause:
- Poor shifting performance or hesitation.
- Overheating and accelerated clutch wear.
- Contaminant buildup, leading to internal component damage.
By upgrading to a durable aluminium sump with a filter, you eliminate the weaknesses of the standard design and ensure consistent reliability.
Why It Should Be Replaced or Upgraded
Replacing or upgrading to the aluminium PDK oil sump
provides measurable benefits in performance, reliability, and maintenance:
- Serviceable Filter Design – Unlike the standard
setup, you can replace the filter independently, saving time and cost during
fluid changes.
- Long-Term Durability – Made from high-strength alloy aluminium,
offering resistance to warping, cracking, and corrosion.
- Guaranteed Fitment – Manufactured to precise OE pan dimensions for
correct clearances and easy installation.
- Enhanced Heat Dissipation – Aluminium dissipates heat more efficiently
than plastic, extending fluid and component life.
- Extended Transmission Life – Protects against contamination and wear for smoother shifting and reduced long-term wear.
Every unit undergoes quality control at each step of production, ensuring the highest level of precision, sealing integrity, and performance reliability.

Automatic Transmission Oil Pan
Genuine Porsche automatic transmission oil pan (also referred to as a gearbox sump or transmission sump) designed to factory-specification and manufactured by Porsche for use with the 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission found on select Porsche Cayenne (958) and Panamera (970) models.
Fits:
Porsche 958 Cayenne 2011 - 2018
with 8-speed automatic gearbox for all-wheel drive (option code: G1G)
Porsche 970 Panamera 2010 - 16 Tiptronic models*
Diagram ref. 35
*NOTE: Unlike the Cayenne, the 970 Panamera could be equipped with Porsche's 7-speed PDK transmission (PR 250). Please note that this sump is compatible only with Tiptronic models and is not suitable for PDK-equipped vehicles. To confirm which transmission your vehicle has, look at the gear selector stem: models with PDK will have "PDK" etched into the stem, while Tiptronic models do not feature this marking. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your vehicle's VIN number for confirmation.
The transmission oil pan plays an essential role in the automatic transmission system by:
• Containing and protecting transmission fluid at the bottom of the transmission assembly
• Providing a seal between the transmission case and the fluid reservoir
• Serving as the mounting surface for the transmission fluid filter (where applicable)
• Helping maintain correct fluid level and aiding cooling of transmission fluid.
Proper fluid containment and serviceability is critical to consistent hydraulic pressure, smooth gear shifts, and long transmission life.
Function:
The oil pan collects and holds the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) that lubricates and cools internal transmission components. It also helps prevent fluid leakage, protects against road debris, and works with the transmission filter and drain plug to support routine service and maintenance.
Without a correctly sealed and structured oil pan, ATF can leak, leading to low fluid levels, reduced lubrication, excessive friction, overheating, and potentially transmission damage.
The transmission oil pan is a key component in maintaining automatic transmission health. Over time, the oil pan can suffer from:
• Corrosion or rust
• Impact damage from road debris
• Leaking gaskets and seals
• Warped or dented surfaces
Any compromise in the pan’s integrity can allow ATF to leak, leading to low fluid levels, transmission overheating, and erratic shifting behaviour. Installing a Genuine Porsche oil pan restores the correct factory sealing surface and fluid containment, helping ensure reliable shifting performance and long-term transmission durability.
When to replace. Replace the genuine transmission oil pan if:
• You notice ATF leaking under the vehicle
• The existing pan is visibly dented, corroded, or damaged
• You’re performing a transmission fluid and filter service
• Diagnostic tests show low fluid due to leaks
• It has been compromised due to road impact or off-road use
