The 970.2 Panamera received a substantial mid-cycle update for the 2014 model year. The base engine, a refined 3.6ltr V6, was exclusively paired with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox, as the 6-speed manual was discontinued. This upgrade boosted the V6 engine's output to 306bhp at 6200 rpm and 295 ft-lbs of torque at 3750 rpm, while also improving fuel efficiency by 0.9 liters, bringing it to significantly less than nine liters per 100 km.
One major improvement for the Panamera was the inclusion of standard bi-xenon headlights, with full LED lamps available as an option. Daytime running lights now featured standard light-emitting diodes. The revised front and rear bumpers gave the car a more aggressive look, complemented by larger side scoops inspired by the 911 range. Additionally, a wider rear windscreen was incorporated into the new tailgate design. Despite the high price tag, the rear wiper remained an optional feature.
