*NOTE: Porsche updated the 924's front anti-roll bar design during the 1982 model year. If your 1982 Porsche 924 has a VIN from F 92-CN402 198 onward (or F 92-CN450 832 onward for North America), it will be compatible.
For 1982 Porsche 924 Turbo models, compatibility starts from F 93-CN100 306 onward (or F 93-CN150 332 onward for North American and Japanese models). Please ensure you check your VIN to confirm fitment. If you're unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us with your vehicle's VIN number for confirmation.
Additionally, due to the vehicle's age and some ambiguity in the official catalogue, we highly recommend measuring your anti-roll bar before ordering to ensure you select the correct size.
The Powerflex Range:
Road Series (Road & Fast Road) - POWERFLEX Road Series bushes improve your cars’ road holding and chassis performance by controlling the amount of unwanted flex in the suspension. This means the suspension is doing what it is supposed to. It means your tyres have greater contact with the road at all times, therefore, improving safety and performance. Correctly formulated polyurethane is as good if not better at noise, vibration and harshness suppression when compared to worn rubber. Our Road bushes offer Prolonged tyre life, Improved performance, Increase safety, and Greater cost-effectiveness.
Black Series (Track & Motorsport) - POWERFLEX Black Series bushes are manufactured using our Black 95 Shore A compound to provide maximum control of chassis geometry. They are designed for the Track, ready to Race and are engineered to be the best. This compound can be up to 80% more resistant to load than standard rubber and 25% stiffer than our purple performance material. If your requirements are purely for the ultimate in handling and chassis performance then Powerflex Black Series are unique, offering the most precise and accurate alignment for your chassis.
Heritage Collection (Classic & Restoration Use) - POWERFLEX Heritage Collection bushes are manufactured using modern-day materials with properties biased for the road. These dark grey coloured bushes will improve any collector’s car, whilst retaining the same standard appearance of a rubber bush. Our new range speaks to the growing demand for quality replacement parts that have an aesthetic in keeping with’ the look of the original part and restoration project as a whole whilst carrying all of the performance and longevity benefits offered by Powerflex’s unique blend of polyurethane. Going a step further than simply using the same material and durometer of hardness for all of our parts, each part location has its own shore designation to ensure improved suspension performance without discomfort or vibration, all of which ship in our new ‘Classic’ Dark Grey colour suitable for all road-based applications.
Powerflex Materials:
The materials used by Powerflex are colour coded to make them easily identifiable. Below explains the shore rating and their common uses.
Red 65A – Used for our Universal exhaust mounts and diesel engine mounts.
Yellow 70A – Mainly used for engine mounts, diff mounts and subframe mounts or areas where the bush needs a lot of movement and absorption.
Purple 80A – Our most common material. This is used in most areas of the suspension and provides the right mix between performance and compliance.
Black 95A – Our hardest material. This is used mostly for our Black Series range or in our Road Series where the vehicle’s standard suspension demands require us to use this hardness of material i.e. in areas of high load.
Grey* - Used specifically for our Heritage Collection. This can be any of the durometers mentioned but will always be the same as the equivalent part from our Road Series i.e. if it’s Purple 80A in our Road Series, it’d be Grey 80A in our Heritage Collection. On our Road Series and Heritage Collection kits, we can use a mix of all 4 of our materials. During the development stages, we test the original bush and see what the requirements are for strength and movement. At that point, we then decide which of our materials would be best suited. We don’t believe in a one material suits all rule. Manufacturers will do the same and will use different shore rubbers, however, it’s not as noticeable as all rubber bushes look visually similar.

Powerflex Polyurethane Bushes
At Design911, we offer a dedicated range of Powerflex polyurethane bushes for Porsche models, ideal for owners looking to refine suspension feel, upgrade tired rubber and get more out of their suspension upgrades without compromising everyday usability.
Powerflex Bushes backed by a Lifetime Warranty
Powerflex are proud to offer a Lifetime Warranty on the entire range of products they manufacture. Soft, ageing or cracked rubber bushes allow unwanted movement in the suspension, which can lead to imprecise handling, uneven tyre wear and instability under braking or cornering. Powerflex polyurethane bushes are engineered to control this movement far more consistently than tired rubber, giving a more precise, repeatable feel.
Why do Porsche Powerflex Polyurethane Bushes matter?
Polyurethane bushes sit at the heart of your Porsche’s suspension, controlling how components move relative to each other. As original rubber bushes age, they soften, split or deform, allowing geometry to change under load. This can leave the car feeling vague and less composed, even if major parts such as dampers and springs are in good condition. Upgrading key locations to Powerflex bushes helps the suspension maintain its intended alignment for longer, complementing other suspension upgrades and giving the chassis a more tied-down feel in everyday driving.
- Keep your Porsche feeling tight and controlled rather than loose or vague
- Help suspension and steering geometry stay more consistent under braking and cornering
- Reduce annoying symptoms from worn bushes such as clunks, instability and uneven tyre wear
- Support long-term enjoyment, especially on upgraded or enthusiast-driven Porsche models
Common options & kits
Individual replacement bushes
Specific bushes for one arm or location, ideal when you have identified a particular weak point or MOT advisory and want a targeted improvement.
- Good for solving a localised knock, movement or alignment issue
- Lets you improve high-stress points first (for example front control arm or anti-roll bar bushes)
- Useful when building up a full suspension refresh in stages
Matched axle sets or pairs
Powerflex bushes supplied in sets so both sides of the axle are renewed together, keeping behaviour consistent left to right.
- Balanced feel and response across the car
- Helps avoid uneven wear or geometry from a mix of new and tired bushes
- A sensible choice when refreshing the front or rear suspension as a package
Complete bush packages
Grouped kits covering multiple arms and mounting points, popular for full suspension upgrades, restorations or track-focused builds.
- Brings tired suspensions back to a tight, precise feel in one hit
- Ensures related bushes are matched in material and stiffness
- Ideal when combining with new dampers, springs, anti-roll bars or other Porsche suspension upgrades

Powerflex
Powerflex is a specialist in polyurethane suspension and chassis components, manufacturing in a dedicated UK facility. Their Porsche bushes are designed to combine durability with carefully chosen stiffness levels, so you can select options that suit fast-road, daily use or more focused applications, all supported by their Lifetime Warranty.
When should you review or replace your Porsche Powerflex polyurethane bushes?
Checking bushes and considering polyurethane upgrades goes hand in hand with wider Porsche suspension work. Even if the car still passes an MOT, aged rubber components can hold back the benefit of new dampers, springs or anti-roll bars.
- You notice clunks, knocking, or a loose feeling through the chassis over bumps
- The car feels vague on turn-in, wanders on the motorway or needs frequent steering correction
- Uneven tyre wear or repeated alignment changes suggest geometry is not being held accurately
- You are upgrading other suspension parts and want the underlying bushes to match the sharper setup
If any of these apply, it is a good time to assess your existing bushes and consider where Powerflex polyurethane could offer a worthwhile improvement for your Porsche.
