What This Product Does
The front glass provides the driver's forward view and closes the windscreen opening against the weather. It replaces the glass component, rather than the surrounding sealing frame or other installation materials.
Functions
- Provides a transparent surface for forward visibility.
- Forms the glazed front section of the passenger compartment.
- Replaces damaged or deteriorated windscreen glass.
Technical Details
- Porsche part number: 96454101111.
- Glass specification: clear.
- Trim configuration: without trim frame; MOD. 89 designation in the 911 diagrams.
- Quantity recorded in the diagram rows: 1.
- The supplied diagrams contain both clear and clear Sekuriflex descriptions for this part.
- The 964 Targa/Cabrio Sekuriflex entry carries the diagram remark: 90.
Symptoms of Fault
- Cracked glass or star-shaped chips.
- Scratching caused by wiper movement.
- Separation visible around the glass edges.
- Water entering around the windscreen seal.
Why Replacement Matters
Chips, cracks and extensive surface pitting can interfere with the view through the front glass. Replacement addresses damaged glazing, while leakage also requires assessment of the seal and installation rather than assuming the glass alone is responsible.
