Cooling water breather pipe
OE Match cooling water breather pipe for Porsche 957 Cayenne S, GTS, Turbo and Turbo S models with the 4.8L V8 engine from 2007–10. This replacement line corresponds with OE reference 94810602604 and the earlier reference 94810602603.
Fits:
Porsche 957 Cayenne 4.8L V8 - S / GTS / TURBO 2007 - 2010
* engine codes: M48.01 / M48.51
Diagram ref no 10
What This Product Does
The breather pipe forms part of the engine water-cooling assembly. It provides the specified connection within the coolant vent circuit, supporting correct coolant circulation and helping the system release trapped air. OE Match components are produced as alternatives referenced against original-equipment applications, with suitability confirmed using the supplied vehicle and OE information.
Functions
- Connects with the engine cooling-system vent circuit
- Allows coolant and displaced air to move through the specified route
- Supports stable cooling-system operation and pressure control
- Replaces an ageing, brittle or leaking original pipe
Technical Details
- Product type: cooling water breather pipe or vent line
- Brand: OE Match
- OE reference: 94810602604
- Previous or cross-reference number: 94810602603
- Engine codes: M48.01 / M48.51
- Parts diagram reference: 10
Symptoms of Fault
- A gradual reduction in the coolant level
- Coolant odour after driving or once the engine is switched off
- Damp joints or dried coolant residue around the pipe connections
- Leaks that become visible only when the engine is hot and the system is pressurised
- Gurgling caused by air entering the cooling circuit
- A low-coolant warning or rising engine temperature
Why Replacement Matters
Repeated heat cycles can make cooling-system pipes and their connections brittle or prone to seepage. A minor leak may only appear at operating temperature but can develop into greater coolant loss. Replacing a damaged breather pipe helps restore the sealed coolant circuit and reduces the risk of overheating. Inspect adjoining seals, connections and related hoses during installation, and renew any parts showing deterioration.

FAQs
- Why can this pipe leak only when hot?
Cooling-system pressure increases at operating temperature and can expose small cracks or weakened connections. - Should the seals and nearby hoses be checked?
Yes. Inspect adjoining seals, clamps and hoses for residue, hardening or damage while access is available. - How can a small coolant leak be located?
A cooling-system pressure test can help identify seepage that is difficult to see during a visual inspection. - Is it advisable to drive with a coolant leak?
No. Continued coolant loss can cause overheating and serious engine damage.
