Manufactured from high-strength automotive-grade steel with a durable corrosion-resistant finish, the mounting stand is precision-engineered to withstand the substantial loads encountered during towing, recovery and workshop manoeuvring. Designed as a direct screw-on installation, it mounts using the original fixing points, eliminating the need for welding while providing a secure and reliable attachment for the tow hook. It is the ideal replacement for corroded, damaged or missing original mounting stands.
What This Product Does:
- Provides a secure mounting point for the rear tow hook.
- Restores the original towing and recovery attachment location.
- Supports safe vehicle recovery operations.
- Maintains correct tow hook positioning and alignment.
- Offers a direct screw-on OE-style installation.
- Reinforces the tow hook mounting area.
- Replaces damaged or corroded tow hook mounting stands.
- Forms an essential part of the vehicle's recovery system.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Heavy corrosion around the tow hook mounting area.
- Cracked or weakened mounting bracket.
- Bent or distorted tow hook support.
- Loose or insecure tow hook installation.
- Visible accident or impact damage.
- Poor tow hook alignment.
- Difficulty fitting or securing the tow hook.
- Excessive movement during towing or recovery.
- Unsafe recovery attachment point.
- MOT or vehicle inspection concerns where structural damage is present.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The tow hook mounting stand is continually exposed to moisture, road salt, dirt and debris while also being subjected to significant loads during towing and vehicle recovery. Over time, corrosion, impact damage or fatigue can weaken the mounting stand, reducing its ability to safely support the tow hook.
- A damaged or insecure mounting stand can compromise the effectiveness of the recovery point, increasing the risk of failure during towing or recovery operations. This may create a serious safety hazard and potentially cause damage to both the vehicle and recovery equipment.
- Replacing a worn or damaged tow hook mounting stand restores the strength and reliability of the recovery mounting point while ensuring the tow hook remains securely attached. The OE Match Screw-On Type replacement provides factory-style fitment, high-strength steel construction and long-lasting corrosion resistance, making it the ideal solution for Porsche restoration, repair and preventative maintenance.
