- Porsche 356B 1959-63
Early type 741 version 1 gearbox with single mount
This OE Match rear throttle linkage is a drivetrain control component designed for Porsche 356 B-T5 models. This rod forms part of the accelerator linkage system, transmitting movement from the throttle pedal assembly to the engine throttle mechanism.
Fits:
Porsche 356 B-T5
Diagram ref no 36
The rod measures approximately 605 mm in length and is designed for early 356 B-T5 vehicles equipped with the Type 741 gearbox with single mount.
Manufactured as an OE Match replacement, it replicates the original Porsche part in dimensions and function, ensuring accurate fitment and reliable throttle operation.
The throttle linkage rod transfers movement from the accelerator pedal assembly through the linkage system to the carburetor or throttle mechanism. When the driver presses the accelerator pedal, the rod moves to open the throttle plates, allowing more air-fuel mixture into the engine and increasing engine speed.
Replacing worn or bent linkage rods restores smooth throttle operation and precise accelerator response.
Throttle linkage components on classic vehicles are exposed to continuous movement, engine vibration and wear over decades of use. Bent, corroded or worn linkage rods can lead to poor throttle response, inconsistent engine speed control or difficulty adjusting the accelerator system. Replacing the rod with a correctly manufactured OE Match component restores accurate throttle movement and helps maintain smooth driving performance.
Consider replacing the throttle linkage rod if you notice:
• Excessive play in the accelerator linkage
• Sticking or uneven throttle response
• Bent, worn or corroded linkage rods
• During restoration of the pedal cluster or throttle system

If you are looking to improve your overall driving enjoyment or reduce your eco-footprint, you need a Pedal Commander. Most newer vehicles are manufactured with Electronic Throttle Control (ETC). This means your acceleration is no longer powered with the old school throttle cable that gave you a linear relationship between your foot and the throttle body, but now everything is powered by electronics and your car’s computer (ECU). The electronic throttle does not provide the same performance as it creates a lag from your initial accelerator push.
Vehicles are changing every year, mostly because of the rate at which technology is developing. The systems that were once mechanically controlled are now controlled by the vehicle’s computer. One such new system is the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), known as drive-wire-wire, which is an automobile technology that electronically connects the accelerator pedal to the throttle, replacing a mechanical linkage.
A typical drive-by-wire system has 3 major components: (1) an accelerator pedal model, (2) a powertrain/engine control system (PCM/ECM), and (3) a throttle valve that opens and closes by the electric motor. It also has several benefits such as reduced weight to take the pressure off the engine, better placement for easier time control and flexibility, and helps improve fuel economy. However, it has its limitations.
If you want your vehicle to respond quicker, Pedal Commander is the right tool for the job! Pedal Commander will allow you to customise the throttle response in the way you want.
Faster acceleration
Are you looking for accessories that complement your driving experience? The Pedal Commander system eliminates the delay from your electronic throttle pedal, allowing your car to accelerate faster, giving your vehicle a night/day difference in performance.
36 Adjustable settings
Pedal Commander is equipped with four modes, Eco, City, Sport, and Sport +. Each mode has an additional nine drive modes to fine-tune to your liking, making this a must-have accessory for your Porsche.
Fuel savings
With Eco mode's significantly slow response, Pedal Commander can increase your MPG and save you up to 20% in fuel economy. You can use the Pedal Commander throttle response controller as a fuel-saver device.
Plug and play
Pedal Commander is a simple plug-and-play device that takes only about 5 minutes to install. Pedal Commander is also Bluetooth-compatible, so you can control the unit using our free Pedal Commander app.
Will not void warranty
Pedal Commander will not void the warranty on your PORSCHE or leave any traces behind on your ECU.
Quick Installation
Installation does not require technical expertise. Pedal Commander installation takes an average of 15 minutes.
