It is ideal for restoration projects, accident repairs or replacing panels that have become corroded, damaged or misplaced, helping maintain both the structural integrity and originality of the front luggage compartment.
What This Product Does:
- Covers and protects the steering box access opening.
- Provides access for steering box inspection and maintenance.
- Helps prevent dirt, water and road debris from entering the steering compartment.
- Maintains the integrity of the front body structure.
- Restores the factory appearance of the luggage compartment.
- Supports correct sealing when installed with the appropriate hardware and gasket.
- Replaces damaged, corroded or missing original access panels.
- Forms an essential part of the front body assembly.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Corrosion or rust on the panel.
- Bent, warped or dented panel.
- Loose or poorly fitting access cover.
- Water entering the steering box compartment.
- Dirt or debris accumulating around steering components.
- Missing or damaged mounting holes.
- Increased wind or road noise from the front compartment.
- Visible deterioration affecting the appearance of the luggage compartment.
- Difficulty securing the panel correctly.
- Missing access panel exposing steering components.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The steering box access panel is continually exposed to moisture, road salt, dirt and vibration. Over time, corrosion, impact damage or previous repair work can cause the panel to deteriorate, reducing its ability to protect the steering box compartment and maintain the vehicle's original appearance.
- A damaged or missing access panel allows water, dust and debris to enter the steering compartment, potentially accelerating corrosion of steering components and increasing maintenance requirements. Poorly fitting panels can also detract from the appearance of a restored vehicle and compromise the proper sealing of the front luggage compartment.
- Replacing the original component with the OE Match Steering Box Access Panel restores the correct protection, fit and appearance of the steering box access area. Manufactured to OE standards using high-quality materials, it provides factory-style fitment, excellent durability and dependable long-term performance, making it an ideal solution for maintenance, restoration and preservation of your classic Porsche.
