What This Product Does:
- Replaces aging or heat-worn front brake discs
- Restores braking bite and consistency with new pads
- Ensures accurate pad-life monitoring with a new wear sensor
- Improves stopping distance, braking stability, and pedal feedback
- Eliminates brake noise, vibration, and judder
- Restores factory-level braking performance for 993 models
- Maintains even braking balance across the front axle
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Squealing, squeaking, or grinding sounds when braking
- Steering-wheel vibration or brake-pedal pulsation
- Reduced braking power or increased stopping distance
- Brake warning light triggered by worn pads or sensor
- Deep grooves, cracks, or heat spots on the discs
- Soft or inconsistent brake pedal
- Vehicle pulling to one side under braking
- Excessive brake dust or uneven pad wear
Why Replacement Matters:
- Front brakes handle the majority of braking force. Fresh pads and rotors ensure safe, predictable deceleration.
- Rotors and pads return the original braking feel, strength, and smooth engagement expected from a Porsche 993.
- Worn pads can gouge rotors, and warped rotors will destroy new pads. Replacing both prevents escalating repair costs.
- New components remove brake squeal, judder, and pedal shake.
- The new wear sensor ensures the dashboard alert system functions properly, preventing dangerously thin pad use.
- Replacing all components at once saves labour time and ensures even wear across both sides of the axle.
- Proper braking is essential for maintaining the performance, reliability, and resale value of a classic Porsche.

Replacing the discs, brake pads and brake pad wear sensors together ensures all components wear evenly, preventing premature wear while maintaining optimum braking efficiency.
Kit Contents
This complete front brake service package includes:
- 2 x Front Brake Discs
- 1 x Front Brake Pad Set
- 2 x Front Brake Pad Warning Wires
Everything required to complete a full front brake service in one convenient package.
What Do the Front Brake Discs, Pads & Warning Wires Do?
Each component performs an essential role in your Porsche's braking system:
Front Brake Discs
The brake discs rotate with the wheels and provide the
friction surface that allows the brake pads to slow and stop the vehicle while
efficiently dissipating heat.
Front Brake Pads
The brake pads clamp against the brake discs when the brake
pedal is applied, converting kinetic energy into heat to deliver powerful,
controlled braking.
Brake Pad Warning Wires
The brake wear sensors monitor brake pad thickness and
illuminate the dashboard warning light when the pads have reached their minimum
safe operating thickness, helping prevent unnecessary damage to the brake
discs.
Working together, these components provide the braking performance, safety and confidence expected from the Porsche 992.2 Carrera.
Why Do Brake Components Fail?
Brake components are designed to wear during normal use.
Common causes of replacement include:
- Normal friction wear of brake pads.
- Brake disc wear and reduction in thickness.
- Heat build-up from repeated heavy braking.
- Brake disc scoring or cracking.
- Pad glazing caused by excessive temperatures.
- Corrosion on brake disc surfaces.
- Activated or damaged brake pad warning wires.
Driving style, mileage, road conditions and vehicle use all influence brake component lifespan.
Why Should They Be Replaced as a Complete Kit?
Replacing the discs, pads and warning wires together offers
several important benefits:
- Ensures even bedding-in of new components.
- Maximises braking performance.
- Prevents accelerated wear caused by mixing old and new parts.
- Eliminates brake warning light issues with new sensors.
- Reduces future labour costs.
- Restores factory braking performance and pedal feel.
- Provides the safest and most reliable braking solution.
Replacing only one component can compromise braking efficiency and shorten the lifespan of newly installed parts.
When Should the Kit Be Replaced?
A complete front brake service is recommended if you notice:
- Brake pad warning light illuminated.
- Brake discs below the minimum thickness specification.
- Excessive disc scoring or lip formation.
- Brake vibration or steering wheel judder.
- Reduced braking performance.
- Brake squeal or grinding noises.
- During scheduled brake maintenance.
Always inspect both the brake discs and pads together during servicing.

Designed for fast road driving and everyday use, Zimmermann Formula Z components offer OE-quality fitment with enhanced durability, excellent heat management and consistent stopping performance.
Kit Contents
This complete front brake package includes:
- 2 x Zimmermann Formula Z Front Brake Discs
- 1 x Zimmermann Front Brake Pad Set
- 2 x Front Brake Pad Warning Wires
Everything required to complete a professional front brake service.
What Do the Components Do?
Zimmermann Formula Z Front Brake Discs
Zimmermann Formula Z brake discs provide the braking surface
that the pads clamp against to safely slow the vehicle. Manufactured from
premium high-carbon cast iron, they offer excellent thermal stability, reduced
brake fade and superior resistance to distortion under demanding driving
conditions. Their advanced design promotes efficient heat dissipation for
consistent braking performance.
Zimmermann Front Brake Pads
Zimmermann brake pads are engineered to work perfectly with
Formula Z discs, delivering excellent friction characteristics, progressive
pedal feel and low noise. Their advanced friction material provides strong
stopping power while helping minimise brake dust and maintaining excellent disc
compatibility.
Brake Pad Warning Wires
The brake pad wear sensors monitor the thickness of the
brake pads and illuminate the dashboard brake warning light when the pads have
reached their minimum service limit. Replacing the warning wires with every
brake service ensures accurate brake wear monitoring and eliminates warning
light issues.
Together, these premium components deliver outstanding braking confidence and help maintain the exceptional driving dynamics of the Porsche 992.2 Carrera.
Why Do Brake Components Wear Out?
Brake components are designed to wear as part of normal
vehicle operation. Common causes include:
- Continuous friction between pads and discs.
- High operating temperatures generated during braking.
- Repeated heavy braking.
- Brake disc wear below the minimum thickness.
- Disc scoring or surface cracking.
- Pad glazing through excessive heat.
- Corrosion during prolonged vehicle storage.
- Activated or damaged brake wear sensors.
Vehicle weight, driving style and road conditions all affect brake component lifespan.
Why Replace the Complete Kit?
Replacing the brake discs, pads and warning wires together
provides several important advantages:
- Ensures perfect bedding-in between new discs and pads.
- Restores maximum braking efficiency.
- Improves brake pedal feel and modulation.
- Prevents uneven wear caused by fitting new pads to worn discs.
- Eliminates brake warning light issues with new sensors.
- Reduces future labour costs.
- Maximises the lifespan of every braking component.
- Restores factory-level braking safety and performance.
Replacing only individual components can reduce braking performance and shorten the service life of newly installed parts.
When Should the Kit Be Replaced?
A complete front brake service is recommended when:
- The brake pad warning light is illuminated.
- Brake discs have reached the minimum thickness.
- Excessive scoring or lips develop on the discs.
- Brake vibration or steering wheel judder occurs.
- Braking performance has noticeably reduced.
- Brake squeal or grinding noises are present.
- During scheduled brake servicing.
Routine inspection of the complete braking system helps maintain safe, reliable braking performance.
