- Porsche 964 (911) C4 1989-93
Shock absorber top mount and fitting kit for the front suspension of Porsche 964 C2 and C4 models, supplied as a matched kit for both sides to support correct fit and function.
What This Product Does This kit refreshes the front shock absorber upper mounting area on Porsche 964 models, replacing key hardware and mount components so the front dampers are correctly located and supported.
Functions
- Locates the top of the front shock absorber securely in the body
- Supports the front suspension under braking, cornering and bumps
- Replaces aged mounting components in one matched kit
- Helps reduce knock and play from worn top mount hardware
- Supports correct suspension geometry and damper movement
Symptoms of Fault
- Knocking or clunking noises from the front suspension over bumps
- Creaking when steering, especially at low speeds
- Vague or unsettled steering feel
- Harsh impact noise from the top of the suspension
- Uneven or accelerated front tyre wear linked to suspension movement
Why Replacement Matters
Front suspension hardware on older Porsche models can deteriorate with age, mileage and repeated load cycles. Rubber, bearings and fasteners at the top mount can harden, wear or loosen, leading to noise, imprecise steering feedback and additional stress on the dampers. Replacing the full set of upper mounting components together helps ensure the front shocks can operate as intended and reduces the likelihood of reusing tired parts during suspension work.
