What This Product Does:
- Its job is to secure the fan or fan housing / duct in place, especially the rear portion of the fan or cooling shroud assembly.
- Helps prevent the fan or its components from moving, vibrating, or coming loose under engine vibration or thermal expansion.
- Ensures that the fan stays properly aligned relative to the radiator and ducting, maintaining proper airflow and clearances.
- Acts as a safety retainer so that if other fasteners loosen, this clip helps hold the fan assembly in position (to avoid interference with other parts).
Symptoms Of A Failing Or Missing Clip:
- Rattling or knocking noises from the front of the engine bay / radiator area — the fan or ducting moving slightly.
- Vibration under load or at certain RPMs — loose components may vibrate.
