Manufactured from high-quality automotive-grade rubber, the sealing ring is engineered to withstand prolonged exposure to UV light, heat, moisture and temperature fluctuations without hardening, shrinking or cracking. Precision-moulded to replicate the original Porsche dimensions, it provides direct OE-style installation, making it ideal for dashboard restorations, instrument refurbishment or replacing an aged or damaged original seal.
What This Product Does:
- Creates a weather-resistant seal around the tachometer.
- Cushions the instrument within the dashboard opening.
- Helps prevent water, dust and dirt from entering behind the dashboard.
- Reduces vibration transmitted to the instrument.
- Ensures a secure and factory-correct fit.
- Restores the original appearance of the dashboard installation.
- Replaces hardened, cracked or deteriorated original seals.
- Forms an essential part of the instrument mounting system.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Cracked, hardened or brittle rubber.
- Shrinking or deformation of the seal.
- Loose-fitting tachometer.
- Increased instrument vibration while driving.
- Gaps around the instrument bezel.
- Water or moisture entering behind the dashboard.
- Dust accumulation around the instrument housing.
- Difficulty securing the tachometer during installation.
- Deteriorated dashboard appearance.
- Perished or split rubber visible around the gauge.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The tachometer sealing ring is continually exposed to sunlight, heat, moisture and age, causing the rubber to gradually lose its flexibility and sealing properties. Over time, the material can harden, shrink or crack, reducing its ability to secure the instrument and protect the dashboard from the elements.
- A deteriorated sealing ring can allow water and dust to enter behind the dashboard, potentially affecting electrical connections and instrument reliability. It may also permit excessive movement of the tachometer, leading to unwanted vibration and detracting from the original appearance of the interior.
- Replacing the worn seal with the OE Match Rubber Sealing Ring restores the correct fit, weather protection and factory appearance of the instrument installation. Manufactured to OE standards using premium-quality rubber, it provides factory-style fitment, excellent durability and long-lasting sealing performance, making it an ideal choice for classic Porsche restoration and routine interior refurbishment.
