Retro Trim Steering Wheel, Black 420mm - without Horn Push
The Retro Trim Black Steering Wheel is a classic-style replacement designed for Porsche 356B and 356C models.
Featuring a 420mm (16.5-inch) diameter and traditional black
finish, this steering wheel closely follows the original Porsche design, making
it ideal for restoring the appearance and functionality of a classic Porsche
interior.
Fits:
- Porsche 356B 1959-63
- Porsche 356C 1963-65
Check compatibility with the existing steering column, horn push and mounting components before ordering.
What Does It Do?
The steering wheel allows the driver to control the direction of the vehicle by transmitting steering inputs through the steering column.
Its 420mm diameter provides the traditional steering feel associated with classic Porsche 356 models, while the black finish maintains the original interior appearance.
Why Is It Important?
The steering wheel is an essential component for vehicle control and driving safety.
Over time, original steering wheels can become cracked, worn or discoloured, affecting both their appearance and condition.
Replacing a damaged steering wheel helps restore a secure steering grip and the classic Porsche interior finish.
When Should It Be Replaced?
Consider replacement if the original steering wheel shows:
- Cracks or damage to the rim
- Loose or deteriorated components
- Excessive wear or discolouration
- Damage affecting the steering wheel's structural integrity
It is also suitable for Porsche 356B and 356C restoration projects where an original-style appearance is required.
Checks & Installation
- Confirm the steering column and mounting compatibility.
- Inspect the existing steering wheel hub and retaining components.
- Ensure the replacement wheel is correctly aligned and secured.
- Check that the horn mechanism operates correctly after installation.
Please Note: The steering wheel is supplied without the horn push/button. Existing compatible components may be reused or replacements purchased separately.
