How many times have you replaced your hood and decklid struts? Us too… that's why we developed a line of fully mechanical hood and decklid struts. This is the last decklid strut that you will ever need. Factory decklid struts are hydraulic filled and will eventually fail, without question. They are sensitive to weight and to temperature making them unreliable and less than ideal for aftermarket decklids and tails. If you've ever installed a fiberglass tail, you've probably also noticed the pressure of the hydraulic shock likes to torque the decklid, usually creating an uneven body gap on the top left side.
Operation is simple. Just open your decklid all the way up, and it will remain in place. Push it up one more time and it will release the stop and come back down.
Rennline's fully mechanical hood and decklid struts will not fail for the life of the product, and therefore carry a lifetime warranty. They utilize a billet design with complex machining to ensure a smooth and reliable operation. They're available with either a carbon fiber body or a black aluminum body to suit your style.
Check to see whether your car came with one or two decklid struts. For light decklids only one mechanical strut is required. Sold per piece.

What This Product Does
The electrically operated damper assists luggage-lid movement as part of the vehicle's powered opening and closing mechanism. It is a replacement component for an existing system, rather than a conversion kit.
Functions
- Assists powered opening and closing of the rear luggage lid.
- Supports controlled lid movement during operation.
Technical Details
- Supplied reference: 971827851D.
- Brand: OE Match.
- Installation position: Rear.
- Operating type: Electric.
Symptoms of Fault
- Reduced support while the lid is raised.
- The lid sinking from a partially open position.
- Creaks or knocks during lid movement.
Why Replacement Matters
A worn or damaged lid damper can make luggage-compartment access difficult and leave the lid poorly supported. Establish the cause before replacement and inspect associated mountings and electrical connections. OE Match develops replacement components around Porsche applications, with specification and fitment checks forming part of its product assessment.
