This OE Match eccentric bolt is a critical suspension component designed to Porsche factory specifications. Installed at the junction between the rear trailing arm and the spring plate, it features an offset (eccentric) cam design that enables fine adjustment of suspension geometry.
The bolt typically measures M12 x 1.5 and is engineered for durability under constant load and stress.
By rotating the eccentric section, technicians can precisely adjust rear camber (and in some cases toe), making it essential for proper wheel alignment. This makes it a key component during suspension setup, maintenance, or restoration of air-cooled Porsche 911 models.
This eccentric bolt allows accurate adjustment of the rear suspension alignment by altering the position of the trailing arm relative to the spring plate. It ensures optimal camber settings, which directly impact handling, tyre wear, and vehicle stability.
Function
• Enables precise rear camber adjustment
• Connects trailing arm to spring plate securely
• Maintains correct suspension geometry
• Helps optimise tyre contact and wear
• Supports stable handling and driving performance
Eccentric bolts are subject to corrosion, seizure, and wear over time, especially due to their exposed position in the suspension. A seized or worn bolt can prevent proper alignment adjustments, leading to uneven tyre wear and compromised handling. Replacing it ensures accurate alignment, improved safety, and optimal suspension performance.
When to replace
• Bolt is seized or difficult to adjust
• Visible corrosion or thread damage
• Inability to achieve proper wheel alignment
• During suspension rebuild or overhaul
• Uneven tyre wear or handling instability
