Steering Rack / Steering Gear, for vehicles without rear axle steering, for LHD (Left Hand drive) cars.
This steering rack ensuring a direct-fit replacement and full restoration of front steering functionality. It translates driver steering-wheel input into accurate lateral movement at the wheels, ensuring responsive steering feel, proper alignment and safe directional control. It built to mirror the original equipment in mounting interfaces, internal gear quality, seal systems and overall durability.

We strongly recommend replacing the power steering pump at the same time as the steering rack. Swarf (metal particles) in the power steering system can circulate and cause damage to both components.

• Location: Front steering rack & pinion (steering gear) assembly – links steering column to tie rods, mounted beneath the front subframe.
The steering gear is a central component of your vehicle’s directional control system. If the rack and pinion assembly develops play, leaks power-assist fluid, or the internal gear surfaces wear, you’ll find yourself with vague steering feel, vehicle wander or increased effort. Replacing with a high-quality OE-Match unit restores accurate response, reliable alignment and longevity of the entire front-end assembly.
When and why to replace:
• Noticeable steering play, slack or a vague “on-centre” feel.
• Power-steering fluid leaks from the rack housing or boots, or visible damage to the rack.
• Vehicle drifting or wandering on the straight-away, or uneven tyre wear pointing to steering component play.

This kit was originally designed by Porsche and fitted to the 993's that came with the optional 18" wheels.
It is a recommended upgrade for any '92-'98 964/993 car regardless of tire size.
Please Note: The steering racks on 89-91 964 are different then later 964 and 993 cars. The hydraulic lines slightly interfere with the placement of the brace so the lines need to be gently pushed/ bent and the brace needs mount with the flush side down to accommodate.
