The water/coolant radiator serves as the cooling system’s primary heat exchanger, where hot coolant from the engine is cooled by airflow before being circulated back into the engine. This process helps:
• Maintain stable engine temperature
• Prevent overheating under load
• Improve heater and climate control performance
• Protect engine components from thermal stress
• Support efficient combustion and emissions control
A failing radiator can lead to engine overheating, coolant loss, performance penalties, and - in extreme cases - engine damage. Symptoms of radiator issues include rising temperature gauge readings, coolant leaks under the vehicle, reduced heater output, and visible core damage. When to replace:
