What This Product Does
The condenser transfers heat from pressurised refrigerant into the surrounding air, turning refrigerant vapour into liquid as part of the cabin cooling cycle. It serves the air conditioning circuit rather than the engine coolant system.
Functions
- Releases heat carried by the refrigerant.
- Condenses refrigerant vapour into liquid.
- Supports the refrigeration cycle used for cabin cooling.
Technical Details
- Condenser reference: 992820411.
- Installation side: Left or Right.
- Supplied individually, not as a pair.
- The supplied Carrera assembly diagrams specify two condensers per vehicle.
- Diagram coverage includes Carrera assemblies with and without the Sport Design package.
Symptoms of Fault
Reduced cabin cooling, refrigerant loss, oily traces or visible impact damage can warrant condenser inspection. Corrosion and obstructed fins may also affect heat transfer. These signs are not conclusive on their own: pipework, connections and other air conditioning components should be checked before replacement.
Why Replacement Matters
A confirmed leak or damaged condenser can prevent the air conditioning circuit from retaining refrigerant or rejecting heat correctly. Replacing the faulty component addresses that defect rather than repeatedly topping up a leaking system. Inspect adjoining seals, connections and air guides during the repair. Refrigerant handling and system commissioning should be undertaken by an appropriately qualified technician.
FAQs
Can this condenser be fitted on either side?
Yes. The supplied application information specifies suitability for Left or Right installation.
Does one unit cover both sides?
No. Each unit is supplied individually; the Carrera diagrams specify two condensers for the vehicle.
Will regassing resolve a condenser leak?
No. A confirmed leak needs repair before the circuit is evacuated, checked and recharged using the vehicle-specific procedure.
Does the receiver-drier need attention?
Have the technician assess receiver-drier renewal against the repair procedure, particularly if refrigerant has escaped or the circuit has been opened.
