This comprehensive auxiliary drive system service kit
includes Genuine Porsche tensioner, idler pulleys, and drive belt components
designed to restore smooth accessory drive operation, maintain correct belt
tension, and minimise the risk of pulley or belt-related failures.
Kit Contains
1 x Tensioner element
1 x Drive belt tensioning roller
1 x Drive belt deflection roller
1 x Drive belt deflection roller
1 x Water pump drive belt for cars WITH Aircon
The auxiliary drive system on the Porsche 996 Carrera engine operates under constant heat, vibration, and mechanical load. Over time, tensioners, idler pulleys, and drive belts naturally wear, potentially causing belt squeal, pulley bearing noise, belt slip, or reduced accessory performance.
Replacing all related components together using Genuine Porsche parts helps maintain OEM reliability, precise fitment, and long-term durability while protecting essential engine-driven accessories including the alternator, air conditioning compressor, and water pump.
This complete service kit is ideal for preventative maintenance, routine servicing, engine refresh projects, or resolving common auxiliary drive issues on Porsche 996 Carrera Manual models with air conditioning.
Manufactured to Porsche factory specifications, these components deliver the quality, fitment, and reliability expected from Genuine Porsche parts.
Perfect for Porsche enthusiasts, independent Porsche specialists, and workshops maintaining Porsche 996 Carrera models to factory standards.

The Genuine Porsche Drive Belt Tensioner (Part No. 94810226121) is used in Porsche Cayenne (92A) and Panamera (970) models. This tensioner maintains proper tension and alignment of the serpentine (ribbed) belt, ensuring the alternator, air-conditioning compressor, power steering pump and other accessories function smoothly.
Fits:
Porsche 958 Cayenne S / GTS / Turbo 4.8L 2011 - 2018
Porsche 970 Panamera 3.6L 2011 - 2016
Porsche 970 Panamera S / GTS / Turbo 4.8L 2010 - 2016

The belt tensioner plays a critical role in the accessory-drive system: a failing or loose tensioner can allow belt slippage, mis-routing, increased accessory wear or belt breakage. This has implications for alternator output, A/C performance, power steering function and overall engine reliability. By using the genuine Porsche tensioner, you protect the accessory system, maintain factory behaviour and avoid secondary damage.
When to replace:
• Audible belt squeal, chirp or rumble when the engine is started or under load.
• Belt shows signs of wear, mis-tracking or vibration.
• Tensioner or pulley appears worn, loose or has excessive play.
• During serpentine belt replacement or major engine service where access is available.
• High-mileage vehicles where the original tensioner may be nearing end of service life.
