What This Product Does:
- Support & Locating Function - The mount holds the gearbox housing in its proper position relative to the chassis. It resists movement under torque, acceleration, braking, or other loads.
- Vibration Damping / Noise Isolation - The rubber or elastomer absorbs vibration and noise from the transmission so that it doesn’t transmit harshly into the cabin.
- Control Twist / Deflection Under Load - Under torque or rapid load changes, the transmission tends to twist or shift slightly. A good mount restrains that movement, preserving alignment and reducing strain on connected parts (driveshafts, couplings, etc.).
- Maintain Drivetrain Geometry - By limiting excessive movement, it helps maintain the correct angles and alignment of drivetrain components, which is important for durability and performance.
- Thumping, clunking, or bangs when shifting gears, accelerating, or decelerating
- Excessive vibration or harshness in the cabin, especially at idle or under load
- Gear lever play or misalignment under load
- Delayed or vague shift feel, due to movement or flex in the mount
