What This Product Does:
- The control arm mount bracket with bushings holds the rear end of the front lower control arm in place. It constrains rearward / forward movement and helps stabilize lateral forces on the arm.
- It acts as a pivot and anchor point, allowing the control arm to move up and down with suspension, while resisting unwanted deflection under load (cornering, braking, acceleration).
- Because it’s in the rear position of the arm, it is subject to forces that might push or pull the arm fore/aft, so a stable mount is critical for alignment.
- In the HD / stiffer version, this mount limits deflection under load, which helps maintain alignment (especially toe) and reduces undesirable movement that can degrade handling precision.
Symptoms / Signs Of Wear:
- Clunking / knocking noises from the front suspension, especially from the control arm area
- Loose or vague steering feel, especially under cornering or over bumps
- Front-end alignment shifts under load, especially toe changes when braking or accelerating
- Uneven / accelerated front tire wear, especially on the front tires
- Reproducible shudder or instability during transitions (e.g. turning into a corner)
- Excessive vibration or harshness transmitted through the suspension if the buffering is compromised
- Improved Handling Precision: By reducing deflection under load, the HD mount helps maintain consistent suspension geometry, giving sharper steering response and more predictable behavior.
- Better Alignment Retention: Less movement helps the toe/camber settings stay where they should under braking, cornering, and load changes.
- Eliminates Noise & Play: Worn mounts let arms move, causing clunks or play. A stiffer mount restores tightness.
- Durability / Longevity: Higher durometer (stiffer) material resists aging, fatigue, and deformation better than softer factory rubber.
- Track / Sport Use Capability: On spirited driving or track days, the extra stability is noticeable — less wobble, better feedback, and more control.
- Better Front-End Behavior Under Load: Because the arm is more securely anchored, the forces are better managed, reducing unwanted movement that might upset balance.
