- Contributing to the aesthetic/visual finish of the vehicle (chrome or polished tip, aligning with diffuser or bumper design).
- Protecting the exhaust outlet and ensuring a clean exit of gases (also potentially shielding nearby bodywork or trim).
- Correct tip fitment ensures the exhaust meets factory design for appearance and clearance, avoiding visible misalignment or poor fit.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Need For Replacement:
- The tip is visibly damaged, cracked, dented, corroded or the finish is peeling. Because the vehicle is used, external tips can suffer from road debris, salt, heat etc.
