Information
Door seal
The Porsche Genuine OE Door seals are original factory weatherstrip seals designed for the Porsche 911 (996) Coupe models. These seals are fitted around the door aperture and lower door frame, providing a tight seal between the door and body.
Each seal is supplied individually (sold separately) and is side-specific
Fits:
Porsche 996 Carrera 1998 - 2005 COUPE
Porsche 996 Turbo/GT2 2001 - 2005 COUPE
Porsche 996 GT3 1999 - 2005 COUPE
Diagram ref no 9
These parts are genuine Porsche components, ensuring exact fitment and factory-quality sealing.
The door seal creates a weatherproof barrier between the door and body shell, preventing water, wind, and debris from entering the cabin. It also plays a key role in reducing wind noise and vibration, contributing to overall cabin comfort.
By maintaining a tight seal, it ensures proper door closure and helps preserve the interior environment.
Functions & Technical Role
• Weather sealing: Prevents water ingress and protects the cabin
• Noise insulation: Reduces wind noise at speed
• Vibration damping: Minimises rattles and door movement
• Body sealing: Ensures proper alignment and closure of the door
• OEM precision: Manufactured to Porsche specifications for exact fit and durability
Door seals are exposed to UV, temperature changes, and constant compression, which can cause them to harden, crack, or lose elasticity over time. Worn seals can result in:
• Water leaks into the cabin
• Increased wind noise
• Poor door sealing or misalignment
• Interior wear and moisture damage
Replacing with genuine Porsche OE seals restores proper sealing, improves comfort, and maintains the original quality of the vehicle.
