- The tail pipes direct exhaust gases safely out the back of the vehicle. They are the visible end section of the exhaust system.~
- They also serve aesthetic and finishing roles — giving the rear a polished, completed look, often with chrome or specific styling to match the rear bumper cutouts.
- Rust, corrosion or pitting on the tail pipe surface (especially the chrome or finish).
- Dents, bending or damage from road debris, curbs, or impacts.
- Loose fit or play — the tail pipe loosening from its mount, rattling or vibrating.
- Unusual exhaust noise around the tail end, indicating leaks or gaps at the joint.
- Mismatch in appearance (one side damaged while the other still looks good).
- Maintains visual integrity and factory look of the rear of the car. Tail pipes are one of the most visible parts of the exhaust.
- Prevents exhaust gas leakage at the tail end which could lead to noise, fumes entering cabin area, or inefficiency.
- Protects the muffler and downstream parts by ensuring the outlet is sealed and aligned.
- Avoids further damage — a loose or damaged tail pipe tip can vibrate, scratch the body, or damage mounting points.
- Using OEM parts ensures correct fit, finish, material (resistant to heat, corrosion), and alignment.

What This Product Does:
The tail-pipe tip is the visible end section of the exhaust system. While it doesn’t typically affect engine performance directly, its functions include:
- Providing the correct physical outlet for the exhaust gases (ensuring correct alignment under the bumper, correct fitment).
- Contributing to the aesthetic/visual finish of the vehicle (chrome or polished tip, aligning with diffuser or bumper design).
- Protecting the exhaust outlet and ensuring a clean exit of gases (also potentially shielding nearby bodywork or trim).
- Correct tip fitment ensures the exhaust meets factory design for appearance and clearance, avoiding visible misalignment or poor fit.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Need For Replacement:
- The tip is visibly damaged, cracked, dented, corroded or the finish is peeling. Because the vehicle is used, external tips can suffer from road debris, salt, heat etc.
- The tip is loose or mis-mounted, or it doesn’t align properly with the bumper or diffuser — this could be due to broken brackets, missing hangers, or the tip section was replaced incorrectly.
- Exhaust gases are contacting bodywork or diffuser — if the tip is mis-aligned, hot gases or soot may mark adjacent parts.
- Aesthetic & fitment: Because this part is highly visible on the rear of the vehicle, correct OEM fitment contributes to the vehicle’s finished appearance and preserves value.
- Structural integrity: A poorly fitting or damaged tip may cause vibration, hangers may sag, and the exhaust may shift — leading to other issues further up the system.
- Durability & corrosion protection: Original parts are designed for the specific application; replacing a worn tip prevents further degradation or build-up of rust/corrosion at the exit point of the exhaust.
