The concave washer sits within the shock absorber mounting assembly and helps evenly distribute clamping force across the suspension components. Its specially formed curved profile supports the correct positioning of the shock absorber mount, helping maintain suspension geometry and reducing stress on mounting surfaces during suspension movement.
Functions & Technical Role
• Load distribution: Spreads suspension forces evenly across mounting points
• Mounting support: Assists correct positioning of the shock absorber assembly
• Suspension stability: Helps maintain proper suspension alignment under load
• Vibration control: Reduces stress and movement within the mounting assembly
• OEM precision: Manufactured to Porsche specifications for exact fitment and durability
Fitment / Position on car
• Fitting position: Front axle suspension
• Location: Shock absorber / strut mounting assembly
• System: Front suspension and damping system
The concave washer supports correct suspension mounting geometry and helps prevent uneven stress on suspension components. Proper load distribution is essential for maintaining ride quality, handling precision, and long-term durability.
When to Replace
• During shock absorber or suspension overhaul
• Damaged, bent, or corroded mounting hardware
• Suspension noise or movement from the strut assembly
• Following accident or suspension impact damage
