What This Product Does:
- These door-airbag units are part of the side-impact protection system. In the event of a side collision, the airbag mounted inside the door or side pillar deploys to help protect the occupant’s torso/hip area and reduce injury.
- They are designed to work with the car’s crash-sensing system, door sensors, the SRS control module, harness and mounting. The correct part ensures proper deployment timing, direction and effectiveness.
- Because they must match the original specification (inflator, bag size, side-specific geometry), using the correct part ensures that the door protection system functions as intended by Porsche.
Symptoms & Signs You Should Consider Replacement:
- The airbag has already deployed (after a crash) and therefore must be replaced.
- The door-airbag warning light is on (SRS/airbag light on the dash) and diagnostics point to the door side-airbag circuit or sensor.
