The Porsche 964 interior is known for its classic driver-focused layout, but over time the dashboard is one of the most common components to deteriorate due to sunlight, heat and material ageing. Replacing a worn dashboard restores the interior appearance and preserves the value of the vehicle.
What This Dashboard Does
The dashboard forms the central structure of the vehicle interior and houses key components such as the instrument cluster, ventilation outlets and control panels. It also defines the visual quality and overall presentation of the cabin.
A high quality dashboard helps:
• Restore the original appearance of the Porsche 964
interior
• Provide proper mounting for instruments and interior components
• Improve the overall finish of restoration projects
• Enhance the driving experience with a premium interior look
Why Porsche 964 Dashboards Fail
Original dashboards in the Porsche 964 often suffer from deterioration due to age and environmental exposure.
Common issues include:
Sun damage and cracking
Constant exposure to UV light can cause the original material to crack or warp.
Material shrinkage
Ageing interior materials may shrink over time, leading to poor fitment and
visible gaps.
Surface fading
Years of sunlight and heat can cause discolouration or uneven surfaces.
Previous repairs or coverings
Many older dashboards have been poorly repaired or covered with aftermarket
materials that reduce interior quality.
Replacing the dashboard restores the original appearance and ensures a properly fitted interior component.
