Sunroof Air Deflector – Left & Right
Sold each - 2 required per car
This sunroof air deflector is designed for classic
Porsche 911 models from 1965 to 1983 and is suitable for both left-hand
and right-hand fitment. Mounted at the front edge of the sunroof opening,
the deflector automatically raises when the sunroof is opened, redirecting
airflow over the roofline to reduce wind buffeting, cabin turbulence and
unwanted noise at speed.
Fits:
Deflector for diagram ref no 24 and 25
Manufactured using laser-cut precision techniques and
finished with a durable anodised coating, this air deflector offers
improved longevity and corrosion resistance compared to aging original
components. It is an ideal solution for restoring proper sunroof function and
comfort in early air-cooled 911 models.
What the Sunroof Air Deflector Does
This component:
- Redirects airflow over the open sunroof
- Reduces wind noise and cabin buffeting
- Improves comfort during open-roof driving
- Automatically deploys when the sunroof opens
- Helps stabilise airflow at motorway speeds
- Maintains correct sunroof system operation
A correctly functioning air deflector is essential for
enjoyable sunroof use in classic Porsche 911s.
Why Sunroof Air Deflectors
Fail
Over time, air deflectors can fail due to:
- Metal
fatigue from repeated movement
- Corrosion,
especially on untreated original parts
- Distortion
or bending, reducing airflow control
- Broken mounting points or weakened springs
- Age-related
wear, particularly on early vehicles
- Previous poor-quality repairs or replacements
A failed deflector often results in excessive wind noise, vibration or incomplete sunroof deployment.
Why You Should Replace a Worn Air Deflector
Replacing the sunroof air deflector restores:
- Quiet, stable airflow when the sunroof is open
- Original driving comfort at higher speeds
- Correct sunroof operation and alignment
- Improved durability with laser-cut anodised construction
- Protection against further wear to sunroof mechanisms
- Authentic appearance for classic Porsche restoration projects
This part is suitable for both left and right sides, simplifying installation and inventory management.
