The knob forms part of the manual seat runner adjustment mechanism and provides the hand-operated contact point used when releasing or adjusting the seat position. Finished in black, it is designed to replace an original knob that has become worn, cracked, damaged or missing.
As a small but frequently handled interior component, replacing a deteriorated seat runner knob helps restore both the function and appearance of the seat adjustment system.
What This Product Does:
The seat runner mechanism allows the seat to slide forwards and backwards so the driver or passenger can achieve a suitable seating position.
The adjustment knob provides a comfortable and secure surface for operating the seat runner release mechanism. When used, it helps disengage the runner locking system so the seat can be moved along its rails before locking securely into the chosen position.
Its functions include:
- Providing a convenient hand grip for seat adjustment
- Helping operate the seat runner release mechanism
- Allowing the seat to move forwards and backwards
- Supporting correct driving and passenger seating position
- Protecting the underlying adjustment lever or mechanism
- Restoring the original appearance of the seat hardware
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Seat adjustment knobs can deteriorate through repeated use, age and general interior wear. Common signs that replacement may be required include:
- Cracked or split knob
- Missing sections of the knob
- Loose fit on the adjustment mechanism
- Knob pulling off during use
- Worn or damaged mounting point
- Smooth or heavily worn surface making it difficult to grip
- Seat adjustment becoming awkward because the knob is missing
- Visible scratches, fading or deterioration
- Knob no longer remaining securely attached
- Exposed metal lever or adjustment mechanism
A stiff or jammed seat runner is not necessarily caused by the knob itself. The rails, locking mechanism and associated hardware should also be inspected if the seat is difficult to move.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Although small, the seat runner adjustment knob is the component the user directly handles when changing the seat position.
- A cracked, loose or missing knob can make the seat adjustment mechanism uncomfortable or difficult to operate and may leave the underlying lever exposed. Continued use of a damaged knob can also cause it to break completely or detach from the adjustment mechanism.
- Replacing the knob restores a secure gripping surface and makes routine seat positioning easier. The incredible Lightweight Bucket Seats from Porsche adorn many vehicles from the 918 to the GT3, GT2, GT4, T and many other models if so equipped.
We created this adjustable lumbar support for our vehicles out of necessity. Not only for the driver but the passenger who agreed to that 6 hour journey as our co-pilot. Typically these are quite comfortable seats but on longer journeys, a little lumbar support goes a long way to comfort the back of you and your co-pilot.
These install in a minute for each side, adjustable for height (lower back, small of back, etc)
The air bladder is adjustable via a simple and lightweight ball pump and once the desired support is obtained, the ball pump can be removed and the hose and check valve tucked into the seat for an invisible install. Or just keep the ball for adjustment at anytime.
