What This Product Does
The filter catches contamination in fuel leaving the tank, helping to limit debris passing into downstream fuel-system components. It is a tank-associated filter, rather than a replacement fuel tank or filler cap.
Functions
- Filters particles from the tank’s fuel supply.
- Helps keep sediment out of downstream components.
Technical Details
- Supplied size specification: 8 mm
Symptoms of Fault
A restricted filter may be worth inspecting when starting becomes difficult, acceleration is hesitant or fuel delivery is inconsistent. Sediment discovered during servicing or repeated filter blockage also warrants investigation of the tank’s condition. These symptoms alone do not confirm a filter fault.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a blocked or contaminated filter addresses a restriction in the fuel supply. If debris keeps returning, investigate the contamination source rather than repeatedly changing the filter. During the repair, inspect adjoining hoses, connections and seals for deterioration.
FAQs
Does the broader model grouping confirm fitment?
No. Use the specific E/S application and the relevant diagram notes to identify the required version.
What should be checked if the filter blocks repeatedly?
Inspect the tank for sediment or internal corrosion and assess the condition of the fuel and connected pipework.
