The Porsche Genuine OE Self-Tapping Screw is an original factory-specified AM 5 x 10 self-tapping fastener used in various interior and roof frame applications on classic Porsche models. This screw is designed to provide secure fastening for components such as the coat hook and Cabriolet roof frame trim in Porsche 911 vehicles.
The screw is supplied individually (sold each).
Fits:
Porsche 911 1978 - 1989 Cabrio
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994 Cabrio
Porsche 993 1995 - 1998 Cabrio
Diagram ref no 43
This self-tapping screw is designed to secure interior trim components and roof frame fittings directly into mounting surfaces without the need for pre-threaded inserts. Its self-cutting thread design allows it to create its own thread during installation, ensuring a firm and stable attachment point.
In Cabriolet models, it is commonly used to fasten components around the convertible roof frame and interior fittings, helping maintain proper alignment and secure mounting of trim parts.
Using the correct OE fasteners helps maintain the integrity and appearance of Porsche interiors and convertible roof structures. Generic screws may have incorrect thread profiles or head dimensions, which can cause loose fittings, damaged trim, or improper installation. Genuine Porsche screws ensure factory-correct fit, durability, and secure mounting.
