The brake shoe with a 40-mm wide and 7-mm thick pad for the Porsche 356 from model years 1950 to 1963. This brake shoe is suitable for new and 'as new' brake drums in accordance with the instructions in the relevant Workshop Manual.

Brake Shoe Set is a direct-replacement kit for use in the drum brake system of the Porsche 356 (Pre-A, A, B) models. It comprises four standard-size (40 mm) brake shoes — two for each side of one axle — manufactured with high-friction lining and correct geometry for a precise fit. According to standard listings, this set serves both front or rear drums of the Porsche 356.
It replicates the original width (40 mm) and arc length so that it fits directly into the original 356 drum hub — ideal for restoration, maintenance or performance refresh.
Brake shoes are a consumable component exposed to constant friction, heat and wear. Over time the lining material wears down, thickness reduces, and the braking arc may lose proper contact — resulting in longer stopping distances, reduced pedal feel or uneven wear.
Replace this set when:
• Shoe lining thickness falls below manufacturer spec
