This is the replacement ring set for Retro Performance 82.5mm (0081182PJE), (0081182JEP) and 83.5mm (0081183PJE), (008 11 83JEP) kits.
Piston rings perform several critical functions within an internal combustion engine. The compression rings help contain combustion pressure above the piston, reducing the amount of combustion gas that escapes into the crankcase. The oil-control rings regulate the lubricating oil film on the cylinder walls, removing excess oil while retaining sufficient lubrication for smooth piston movement. The rings also help transfer heat from the pistons into the cylinder walls.
