Fits:
Porsche 991.2 Turbo/Turbo S models 2013-2019
About the Performace Plenum:
Background:
The OEM 991.2 Turbo plenum is T-shaped which means the air flow from the throttle body abruptly change direction when it´s divided to each side of the intake manifolds. It makes sense to design a plenum with a Y-shape instead of a “straight into the wall” T-shape!
Development:
With the starting point in a comprehensive 3D-scan of the engine bay to get the structural limitations, we set to work. With the experience we had from previous Porsche plenums, we soon realised the need for a y-joint rather than the t-shaped OE plenum. From an airflow perspective the y-shape is more efficient as it distributes the air more evenly and with less pressure drop. We chose, as usual, to manufacture the plenum from cast aluminium as it allows for shapes that CNC-machining cannot replicate, and to us function always conquers form. Maximum airflow supersedes the bling factor!
The do88 plenum
The plenum is designed with soft, sweeping lines. Radius and angles have been revised and reworked many times over. The connections are CNC-machined and the plenum comes with suiting silicone hoses for optimum fitment and durability. The improvement in airflow is verified using CFD (Computer Flow Dynamics) as well as in our Superflow SF1020 flow bench. Taking away restrictions for the turbocharged air that reaches the inlet will provide better throttle response and performance gains all over the powerband!
Key figures:
- More air to your engine, less back pressure and better airflow!
- Airflow at 0,1 bar / 1,45 psi pressure drop: 846 CFM (808 CFM), 5% higher! See diagram below.
- Freeform designed, aluminium casting with CNC-machined connections.
- Y-design for optimum air distribution.
- Comes with all accessories needed for installation.

The GT3 Porsches have their own branch on the Porsche motorsport family tree. GT3 street cars aren't a distant cousin sharing the same family name but are an immediate family member sharing the same DNA with Porsche's top level and most successful race cars. The 996 GT3 is considered by many to be the most performance focused Porsche to ever come out of Stuttgart.
As with all GT3's, power improvements are very difficult to develop because of Porsche's fantastic out-of-the-box design and development on these performance minded machines.
The GT3 engine was specifically developed to deliver power where it's needed on the track, way up high in the rev range. The IPD Plenum compliments that power by delivering additional horsepower throughout the entire power band, especially in the mid range where it's most needed.
The 996 GT3 IPD Plenum provides an additional 24 horsepower at the wheels, enhancing the already ultimate Porsche driving experience. The 996 GT3 Plenum is specifically designed to accommodate the larger 997 GT3 82mm throttle body (additional purchase required).
The combination of the patented Y design plenum and larger throttle body make the 996 GT3 IPD Plenum the ultimate performance upgrade for the ultimate performance Porsche.
Installation of the 996 GT3 IPD Plenum is relatively straight forward but IPD strongly recommends installation be performed by a highly qualified Porsche technician.
996 GT3 Competition Plenum: HP Gains 24 / Torque Gains 26. Requires upgrading factory 76mm Thottle Body with 997 GT3 82mm Thottle Body
Fits:

In fuel injected engines, the throttle body is the part of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine, in response to driver accelerator pedal input in the main. The throttle body is usually located between the air filter box and the intake manifold, and it is usually attached to, or near, the mass airflow sensor.
The largest piece inside the throttle body is the throttle plate, which is a butterfly valve that regulates the airflow. Have a larger diameter throttle body produces more air flow with equals more power. The upgrades should be used in conjunction with the competition plenums.
This is a 82mm Throttle body.
